Although it's a longer walk than expected, this was a lovely castle ruin with a lot of history. It also has signs to tell you about the place and what it looked like in the past.

Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time here, but was told the next time, I'd get in for nothing. Very good value for money, I received a guidebook, which explained most of the exhibits. This place took me back to my childhood.

How could you say you had explored this fascinating coastline if you hadn't sped over the waves, cruised gently into towering seacaves and found yourselves surrounded by curious seals? You don't see this from the A99! All this and a generous sharing of insights about the natural and human history of the place! Seriously, if you do nothing else ... huge thank you to a vastly experienced crew who gave us this memorable experience!

Well signed up. Short walk to the remnants of the castle. Informative board to explain the history. Dramatic coastline…

We enjoyed a lovely walk along the Sandy beach. It was so quiet and peaceful, with just the gentle roar of the ocean.
Easy parking just beyond the golf club with just a few steps down to the beach itself. Feels like it is a good mile from one end to the other.

We visited the Nucleus to gain knowledge of family history from the Caithness Archives.
The people were very friendly and most helpful.
They have access to all historical records of the Caithness area.
We spent a couple of hours there researching one family member.
    There was no cost involved.
A great place to research family history from this area
