Very accommodating and willing to work the schedule around our needs and wants. His suggestions ( places to eat, things to see or possible changes to the itinerary) were excellent. George treats each and everyone of his guests as family. He is beyond knowledgeable and one of the most honest person I have met. He will make sure you s e and learn everything you could ever want. I had the pleasure and honor of spending a whole day with George on his Outlander tour. I’m a handicapped person and I was traveling alone. I have to admit I reached out to many tour companies and not one would accommodate me with being only one person l, but then I spoke to George and even though he didn’t have any tours booked on the day I wanted, he went above and beyond and took me on my very own private tour. None of the big companies would do this but George did. The tour was amazing and I had the best time of my life. It was the highlight of my trip. - Gwen RhodesOriental, NC173 contributionsAndrew arrived at our hotel to pick us up at 9am and delivered us back at 5pm. In between was a phenomenal tour of many of the places or similar ones that we had read about in Outlander or seen in the series.
We asked that he show us not only related Outlander places but to give us a FEEL for Scotland...and he outdid himself doing just that. We saw the simple beauty of the scottish highlands as he SANG to us different ballads and songs of the people ...giving us a feeling of the land and history. We walked Culloden meadow and walked and went the museum there, the history of Scotland is fraught with wars, we saw castles that were built some in1300 -1400 hundreds...and they still stand or parts of them do...their turrets jutting out so to be able to keep watch for danger...there is a sadness that permeates the land though... portrayed in the music and culture and ways throughout the highlands...a land of people that have always wanted the most basic desire...their freedom.
We saw Bleuly Priory where Jamie and hid out after Culloden, Clava Cairns, Castle Leod a 14th Century Scottish Tower/Castle that still stands and has been in the the McKenzie family ever since... and the beautiful tree garden there.some of them hundreds of years old....we went to Wardlaw Mausoleum where the clan Frasers were buried...we saw Fortrose Cathedral...or what was left of it after Oliver Cromwell destroyed it and so many other beautiful buildings in his reign of terror ....(my opinion) We saw Chanonry Point where the dolphins play...and learned about the brahan castle seer a 17 th century seer who forsaw the deaths of 4 sons of Countess Isabella and she had him burned in a spiked barrel of tar!
We went to the Clootie Well where people still take clothes or pieces of clothes of sick people in their family dip them in the water and hang them there ...the belief is that it will cure the sick person....and we went to a delightful pub for lunch and we couldn’t go to Cawdor Castle because the Duchess of Cawdor was in residence but we got to see it...and then the next day we went with Steve Cairns one of Andrews friends that took us on a day trip of the Isle of Skye...through the highlands...what a delightful treat and more of the beautiful scenery and life of the highlands...and another lunch ...although Steve does not sing he is a fount of information just like his friend Andrew....they really gave us the best of the best and we felt like we really got a feel for Scotland. Thank you both so very much. Loved the tour and him so much! So personable and knowledgeable about the history of this beautiful area, and I appreciated him so much! I’ve been on many tours around the world, and he was absolutely the best. An amazing man and an amazing way to go through Scotland far away from the touristy areas! - Tracey P1 contributionJohn was fantastic. We really liked the fact that we were in charge of how long we stayed in any one place. The fairy well was a nice surprise. The whiskey distillery was under construction in December when we went on the tour so we couldn’t go, but John brought us several whiskey’s to sample anyway. If you can afford the private tour, it is definitely the way to go. Craig is very kind and we have lot of fun talking to him and knowing cool facts about Scotland, Inverness and Invergordon. 100% recomended! We were travelling in family and was awesome. Next time we will be doing the North way and the destilery!!

As Outlander fans we visited the Clava stones, Fort George, Culloden battlefield, Culloden house, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle & Beauly priory, we were looked after, had plenty of time & Andy gave us lots of information. - Uri FNew York City, NY19 contributionsWe had the absolute best time with Neil as we toured around the beautiful Scottish Highlands. Neil picked us up from our B&B in Inverness and took us to Loch Ness, Glen Affric, Plodda Falls and had great food at Tomich and quaint shops in Beauly. Neil was funny, informative and knew the right place to take us. We were also very lucky with the weather. We were happy that we can have a more private and bespoke experience of exploring the Highlands, no big groups, buses or tourist traps. For a place like the Scottish Highlands and the area surrounding Loch Ness, the Secret Highlands tour was the perfect fit. Also kudos to Jamie for organizing everything and staying connected before and after. Jamie also provided us with a list of where to go in addition to the tour, based on where we were heading. Cawdor Castle was still closed for the season (as she had let us know when we booked) so she took us to Glen Ord distillery for a tour and tasting, lunch and a boat trip on Loch Ness instead. Then it was off to Culloden and the Clava Cairns to wrap up the day. Fantastic conversation, history, and fun!
