No trip to Edinburgh is complete without ascending the 350-million-year-old Arthur's Seat - and although the climb is hard work even for those of reasonable fitness, the views from the top make it well worthwhile.

Choose your day carefully, though. Heat, rain or cloud can all diminish your enjoyment to varying degrees, so aim for a cool, clear day to make the most of your climb. You won't be disappointed!

Visited after getting tickets on line. Lots of people as Edinburgh Castle was closed due to the visit by King Charles III. And it was raining heavily, so not good at all. Very good to see how homey it was & why the Queen was so upset to see it scuttled. You can visit everywhere on board & but their own freshly made Fudge - but it's very expensive! They have a great gift shop & being inside a shopping centre, there are cafes & eateries. Great place for the history but not on a wet day.

Booked tickets before so was straight into the self guided tour. Friendly staff at audio store. Was able to go at my own pace which was great. Very busy but managed to move around fairly freely. Only queue was to see the Jewels.
    Enjoyed the whole experience.

My main reason for visiting the museum was the "Beyond the Little Black Dress" exhibition, which was excellent. This exhibition had an admission charge, but the rest of the museum is free, although donations are welcomed. Pick up a floor plan at the entrance which wil help you navigate the various collections. The areas with the interactive exhibits for children can get quite crowded, but other parts of the museum are relatively quiet.

This is a great tour- totally worth the cost of a ticket. Some may say it is too "touristy" but we really enjoyed our experience. Our guide was great-- lots of really interesting information, and a little bit of drama.

Based in the Old Town the Royal Mile is a ‘Scots mile’ long, connecting two royal residences (the Castle and the palace of Holyrood House). It is home to parliaments old and new, law courts, a cathedral and churches, and a range of visitor attractions, walking tours, shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Consequently, it gets very busy with tourists, especially in the summer. Well worth a look, but be prepared for crowds!

Bianca, our guide, was superb. Learnt lots about chocolate but that's not why I was there, was all about the sampling and making. Sampled 10+ chocolates overall and made bars into different shapes with the molds. Had a great time, would come back

As long as you are reasonably fit, it's well worth slogging up the steep walkway. Great broad views of Edinburgh from different sides of the hill. Some interesting old monuments and buildings (including City Observatory) at the top of the peak as well. May have been the result of volcanic activities 340+ million years ago but feels pretty safe now. It's really enjoyable taking look at all the old buildings, viewpoints, Roman structures and monuments while at the top. And rug up, it's a bit cool and windy at times.

Fantastic experience, lovely gin with lovely company. Our tour guide Peter, had an incredible knowledge of the distillery and its history and made our experience all the more immersive. Big thank you to him as he made it a fantastice birthday present for my good friend.

Beautiful place for a walk. Pretty close to the city center, but not overcrowded with turists. Perfectly maintained, a lot of space for children.

Great tour, really informative and interesting, well worth the money, would take much more than the cost of the ticket to be this drunk at the end! Would highly recommend
