Loved everything about this area of town. Great selection of vegetarian foods as well in the many cafes and restaurants.

We love historical sites and exploring this one was a treat. Lots to see and discover. Good walking shoes definitely needed - many uneven areas. Friendly staff and an over all good experience at this location.

What a brilliant experience. We love science and optical illusions so this was a must see for us on a weekend trip to Edinburgh. I'd been before over a decade ago, and remembered it fondly, but was pleasantly surprised that the museum had been updated and made even more interactive. My 11yo son loved it, especially the vortex tunnel and mirror maze. Very good covid safety too with staff regularly wiping down touch points and a one way stern in place.

We loved the vibe in this area. Yes, lots of tourist but with so much history crammed into one area, can you blame us? Great pubs and restaurants all along the way. Highly recommend.

As someone who has recently delved into Whiskey world, the tour was very educational. The guide(Max) was knowledgeable. The collection of whiskeys is very impressive. Would recommend the Gold tour as you get to sample many more kinds of Whiskey's.

What can we say except, WOW!

We have watched the show many times over the years but it is lame in comparison to the real thing.

The ambiance, the volume, the audience participation...everything.

We were here during the Edinburgh festival, so the streets were full but the lines to the concert which holds 8000 seats, moves extremely quickly with the help of the many police and military personel.

We were lucky enough to have great weather throughout the show.

Fireworks at the end of the show help make this one of the most memorable experiences you will have in a lifetime.

Terrific museum. The collection is relatively small but about a third of it is represented by great masters. I've seen their exhibition at Frick back in 2014 with the Botticelli, El Greco, Velazquez and Sargent, and I was aware of the presence of Rembrandt, Hals and the early Vermeer which was my particular point of interest (I canceled my visit to Edinburg back in 2018 because it was traveling with an exhibition in Tokyo or somewhere). But in addition, they have paintings by Leonardo, Titian, Vasari, del Sarto, Maes, Metsu, Dou, Lievens, ter Borch, a small collection of impressionists with two excellent Gauguins. And revisiting the famous Sargent's portrait of Lady Agnew of Lochnaw was great.

The cathedral is located in the center of the Old Town. It us free to walk in although they have containers suggesting putting in a 5 pound donation. The stain glass windows are very beautiful and there are many historical memorials on all of the walls. It should take about 15-20 minutes to visit this site.

The Grassmarket is very lively on a saturday because the marketstands are there. You can buy so many beautiful trinkets and souvenirs. Plenty of pubs to drink and eat. I just loved it. And you have an amazing view of Edinbrugh Castle.

I've recently came to visit dynamic earth since its been almost 10 years since I last went. The staff were friendly, informative and welcoming as I went through the tour; Showing everything about our world.

The planetarium was the only thing i remembered since my last visit and their showing about our oceans were both educational and interesting.

However the rainforest section wasn't as immmersive or felt real enough. It should've been longer, in the form of a trail, where guests could walk through, as if they were in a real jungle, with facts and the animatronics scattered throughout, whilst led by the guide (who instead stood on one spot and taught us about it.)

Apart from that, it was really great and joyful experience and educational too; and as a great way to brush off that geography lessons, back in my school days. :D

What a fascinating place with very interesting history and of course, to top it all, the wonderful connections to Harry Potter! Loved it from both points.

We were walking around town and came across the Scott Memorial. Very nice memorial in a very bustling part of town by the train station.

A lovely historic pub. Staff were very friendly and the food was of a very good standard. We had the Tapas (5 bowl) between four of us. It was excellent, especially the chorizo. I would definitely recommend booking as it gets very busy. Definately worth a visit.

The Parliament is currently closed to visitors. However, the outside can still be visited. I realise that the architecture divides opinion, but I’ve always liked it. The last thing they should have done is try to do a carbon copy of Westminster, and they’ve certainly avoided that - it’s completely different. I like the inventiveness of the design and the attempts to show transparency. My own view is that it will be regarded by everyone as a truly great building in 50 years’ time. The inside, which I visited not long after it opened, is even more impressive and the debating chamber itself is the highlight. It reminded me in some ways of a modernist cathedral, with light streaming in. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I think this is a building that people should be proud of.
