What a fantastic resource this is for anyone on holiday in Edinburgh. I went in to purchase tickets for Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle and the staff member Andrea could not have been more helpful. I urge anyone on holiday in Edinburgh to pay this place a visit, you will be amaized the help you will receive.

We found our visit to the the exhibition area on the ground floor of the library very interesting. There was an exhibition on writers who have used pseudonyms. There was also a separate exhibition about Ian Rankin.

This was the second visit that my wife and I have made to this museum and it still fascinates both of us, predominantly as I am a veteran of twenty-four years service in the Army, and my wife was the daughter of a soldier. Our last visit was in October 2022, and although the museum was closed for the Winter, Ian, the owner, let us have a quick look around for free as we were on our way back to Leicester. This time the museum was fully open, and so much has changed in the few months since we last visited. There's so much to see, and as reported in my last review, if you are in any way interested in militaria then you will love this place. We would both highly recommend this museum, and it's certainly worth a visit if you are in the area.

Food and space good. One complaint, staff member I believe Sharon is very abrupt and speaks down to other staff, not nice especially in front of customers

I have been visiting here for many years when on holiday in the area & it is still execellent value at £15 for the day. This was ny first visit since covid and now you have to book & pay online but be warned you cannot do this at present using an android phone! I was told to just turn up & they booked me in via their computers. I was disappointed that they haven't reopened the cafe as I had to venture out in the rain to find something to eat.

Attended to see the Socially Distant Sports Bar live show and the venue was great, bar staff were incredibly efficient and it was only five minutes from Haymarket.

Escape the madness of 'The Mile' in this wee pocket of peace.
The fusion of old city wall and modern design is stunning .
Welcoming staff . A vast collection of poetry , fiction and non fiction plus an array of tourist info. Great paintings of Scottish writers on display at the moment and a whole corner of kids' activities .
Must return to spend a few hours on serious reading.

While our own meeting rooms are not large enough to allow for socially distanced meetings in large groups, we have been using ETCV quite a lot since we started meeting face to face again. Customer care is second to none before, during and after - people just cannot do enough for you and are very proactive in following up tentative bookings, making sure they have noted all your requirements, etc, while always accommodating late additions. You can hire all necessary equipment for virtual attendance and will receive any help required with regards to technical issues. Hot drinks and biscuits are free, and for only £4 extra per person, they provide a really nice buffet lunch. It goes without saying that everything is always very well planned, clean and safe with regards to Covid prevention. They`re not cheap, but they really do take care of everything for you - all you have to do is turn up. Only slight niggle is lack of parking but the central location is ideal for public transport - but who would have ever though that this would ever become one to avoid?

This is - by far - the most striking building on the Royal Mile.
The Gothic look of the building immediately attracts your look.
The building currently houses a gallery and some conferences.

I've visited the Assembly Rooms on a number of occasions with my most recent one being for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It's a great venue which lends itself to various events. I've also attended ceilidhs and political talks in the run up to the 2014 referendum at the Assembly Rooms. They're a bit of an Edinburgh institution and definitely worth a visit.

We visited the venue for our work Christmas party, which incuded a tour of the Zoo's Chinese lantern festival. A stunning old building, with a large area for dining, which doubled up as a dancefloor for the disco later on. Unfortunately, the bar was in a seperate room, which meant people drifted off to get drinks and didn't return to the main part of the venue. Staff were excellent and very professional. Great place for corporate functions, with breakout rooms over two floors depending on your requirements.

Tried this lounge while waiting for flight. The stay is limited to 2 hours and you get a ticket to show in case you leave and want to get back in. Nobody checked this while we were there. Food offering was OK. Lounge wasn't as relaxing as Aspire. Reception staff very friendly. From 7pm appeared to stop new arrivals, soon after stopped food. Not at all bad but Aspire was better.

Constructed in 1937-40 by John A W Grant, this grand-looking and really beautiful public building comprises both art deco and art nouveau stylings in its design. Sculptor Charles d’Orville Pilkington Jackson was commissioned to provide a carving for above the main doorway on the corner of Murdoch Terrace and Dundee Street. Fountainbridge Library was officially opened at 3pm on Monday 11th March 1940. The library replaced an early books repository dating from the 19th century. That building stands out prominently among the surrounding tenements of Fountainbridge. It is a great place. A refurbishment in 2016 . Stunning building.

Located in the grounds of Edinburgh university Pollock halls of residence with super views of Arthur's Seat which you can easily pop out to. Very modern bright venue. Main room can take 330 and be split with 4 additional break out rooms, 2 boardrooms lounge and bar. Parking and accommodation on site. A nostalgic trip to my old uni residences with split new facility to be proud of.
