- Lesley SEdinburgh, UK11 contributionsBeautiful sunny day for a walk with the Alpacas (Praline and Petros). Bob and Cat were really friendly and welcoming. Took you through the dos and don’t while walking the alpacas. Loved hearing about their individual personalities. You could see the separate paddocks for the males, mummies and babies (Cria) and Yearlings - they are well taken care of and spoiled for space to roam around freely. There are a few expectant Mums so more new additions to the family are due any time now. The walk lasted for around 90 mins and you then went back to feed the alpacas their dinner. The experience was really informative, Bob and Cat wanted you to ask lots of questions. The Alpacas were well behaved when cyclists, other walkers and dogs were around. It was a family friendly experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again later in the year when it’s cooler and less flies around - the alpacas didn’t like the flies very much or the heat.Written July 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Khayriyyah MPenang Island, Malaysia65 contributionsThis was a surprising hidden gem near Bruntsfield. Once you go up Blackford Hill, which has great views of the city, Pentlands & Arthur’s seat, you can walk over to Hermitage Braid which allows you to enjoy the lovely stream and songs of the birds. Very peaceful and quiet.Written March 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- weekakEdinburgh, UK1,030 contributionsLovely relaxing open space with lots of wildlife and species of birds, could have spent all day here and I was lucky enough to see a nesting swan and her eggs, which was such a special moment.Written March 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jude064London189 contributionsCramond is a good place to visit for a relaxing time by the sea, perhaps a pub lunch. You can take a gentle walk to the Cramond Falls, which are about 2m high. Don't set Google maps for the Falls (it took us to the wrong place). Set it for the River Almond Walkway. Or set it for Cramond and walk about half a mile.Written November 6, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - weekakEdinburgh, UK1,030 contributionsOut of the three loch's around Arthur's seat, Duddingston loch is my favourite. It's trickier to get to if you don't drive but once you're there you are greeted with breathtaking views of the loch and the bird sanctuary where swans, geese and ducks surround you, especially if you have food, they have no problem getting close, which is great fun for both adults and kids. Theres great attractions in the nearby village too, Dr Neil's garden, Duddingston kirk a 12th century church and Sheep's held Inn for food and drinks.Written March 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura BEdinburgh, UK11 contributionsNicd and quite park and loch near to Holyrood. This loch provided water to Leith, now it's only full of wild life. Ideal for hang out, relax and have fun, it's not as popular as holyrood park and it's pretty calmed. Ideal for solos, young, families, adults and olders. There's plenty of people doing sport, playing with their pets or simply enjoying themselves far away from touristic placesWritten March 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
