Beautiful place for a walk. Pretty close to the city center, but not overcrowded with turists. Perfectly maintained, a lot of space for children.

Beautiful greenery everywhere, ancient tombstones galore too. Great to walk through when crossing between old town and new. Offers fantastic views of Edinburgh Castle.

Our Edinburgh tour guide brought us here as our first stop and wow, what a treasure! This place is a quiet oasis in the busy zone that is Edinburgh. The garden is literally a "secret garden" like the stories of old, featuring incredible beauty and wildlife, especially birds. Take your time here and ENJOY all the natural beauty.

Absolute perfection. A real paradise just off of the Royal Mile. Look forward to seeing the garden in all four seasons.

Nice open park space on the south of the city centre. Could walk to the Royal Mile in about 25 minutes and not far from the Commonwealth pool either. Big student population in this area. During the festival very busy. Tennis courts and other activities available.

This is not a must visit, but if you're already in the area, definitely have a walk there. This park is very beautiful, it has lots of pretty flowers and a cafe. It feels like a perfect place to spend a lovely sunny afternoon.

Today in mid-March the walled garden is still asleep and there won't really be much to see for another month. However, the woodland area is waking up with the wild garlic and a rhododendron already in flower. Don't be put off from visiting now but it will be much better later. The Rugby Club next door does tea, coffee and Victoria sponge. .
The garden was almost empty on the Saturday afternoon I went and I was not asked to show my NTS membership card.

Hidden away up steps on Vennel just off the main street keep your eyes open for the direction sign on the side the Ferry Tap. The mosaic is 14m long, involved 100 people in its making and now sits in a lovely community garden. It is absolutely full of detail - it's fantastic, don't miss it.

I always like to nip into this small garden when passing by. The statue, with all the town crests, is a favourite feature.

Formally known as the Royal Terrace Gardens there are mature trees and various wooden carvings dotted around with easy walking paths, walked through to get to Carlton Hill.
