I’d done the Operation Odyssey room just over a year ago and was so pleased I came back to do Spellbound. I’ve done ~30 rooms so far (not an expert, just enthusiastic!), and my partner only 3, but we both found that we were putting in equal work, so not to worry if you’re either a more experienced escapee or a beginner team, the room will absolutely cater to all manner of teams and you will not be left wanting.
The room itself was wonderfully decorated so as to be on theme but not distracting in the background, and gameplay wise everything flowed together very well. The puzzles here have a good balance of your traditional hidden codes/logic puzzles, and some wonderful creative puzzles/different uses of common props I’ve actually never encountered before!
Above all the room was just straight up FUN, you are able to enjoy the fantastical and are never labouring over something unnecessarily long or complex, which can sometimes happen in non-linear rooms like the ones provided here.
Our Games Master Emily was lovely and energetic right from coming in the door, and provided helpful clues with excellent timing (some places I’ve been can get rather spoonfeed-y, but not here!) Very hospitable and a charming dragon during our quest to find Ye Olde Xbox Symbols.
