Historic cemetery and Presbyterian Church with such long and distinguished history. The place feels silent and solemn with people being respectful of the place.

Always wanted to visit this kirkyard. Incredible details on some of the gravesites. Unusually quiet walking around even though it's in the middle of town and George Bridge Street is not that far away. Well maintained and got to visit both John Gray and Greyfriars Bobby's gravesites.

Inadvertently we ended up visiting three of the old churchyards in Edinburgh on the same day: Greyfriars Kirkyard, New Calton Burial Ground and finally Old Calton Burial Ground. Just as the other two it has a nice quite atmosphere, but New Calton Burial Ground offers a better view.

Dean cemetery is in a beautiful location near Dean village but is a bit of a hike uphill. This is a huge cemetery with lots of influential, important, interesting people like Elsie ingles, John Bellamy, Henry Cockburn, Agnes Henderson Brown, people involved with Queen Victoria, people involved with William Burke are all buried here and many more. It is worth doing a bit of research beforehand to find out exactly who is buried here and seeking them out. I wish there was a map or something as a guide, I visited at least 5 times, in search of specific memorials and still haven't found them all but there are beautiful interesting monuments but it's the ones that don't necessarily stand out that are worth seeking. There are no toilets that I could see in or around Dean cemetery so I was always on a mad dash to Princess street to find a loo, sometimes having to cut my visit short which was frustrating. But if your into historical graveyards, this is a must see.

South Leith Parish Church can be found in the heart of Leith in Edinburgh . South Leith Parish Church is a congregation of the Church of Scotland. It is the principal church and congregation in Leith, in Edinburgh. It stands just beyond the foot of Leith Walk and is surrounded by a large graveyard which is a very quiet place in such an urban environment. The graveyard is the burial place for the playwright John Home and John Pew. You can find here a large number of 19th century gravestones , some 18th century stones with memento mori carvings and a big family of squirrels.

Well it's like 2 in 1 churches which is pretty cool. But that doenst say I like it. I cannot say I like it or dislike it, but it's definitely in the middle.

Small church with beautiful windows. Small cementary to walk around.
Very friendly stuff with "double" friendly dog Drake.
Close walk to Crichton castle so you can shoot two birds with one stone.

Calm green area in a busy city. From Holyrood Palace there is a pathway that goes through the cemetary up towards Calton Hill.
All metal railing was removed during WW2 which still shows.

Corstorphine Old Parish Kirkyard is a lovely and peaceful place. Located away fro noise and traffic and neatly kept. In the middle of the kirkyard there is a beautiful, small, historic, very atmospheric , 15th-century church. The church is open for visitors only on Wednesdays 10.30am-12.00 noon, except December and January. At the churchyard, we can find many old, interesting tombstones. This is just amazing place for looking at all this amazing, beautiful. old graves. Really pleasurable experience, ike a walk in a beautiful garden.

Set to the North of new housing on Freelands road .this is a large cemetery with Commonwealth War graves . A small drive through 2 pillars leads to a well spread out cemetery . Well maintained and easy to find this is a newer cemetery with the older one being the old Kirkyard of the local Parish church
