We had such a fun tour with Kevin. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. We learned lots about the area and about life in Scotland. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend Edinburgh Black Cab Tours.

Our trip with Ronnie surpassed even our wildest expectations. My family (my husband, myself, and our 20-something kids) spent two days in the Scottish Highlands. Our group included some whisky novices and some people with more experience, and the distillery tours and tastings were enjoyed by everyone. The time that we spent driving was used for tasting and learning as well (many thanks to Harry for navigating while Ronnie taught). Our trip included some non-whisky stops as well, and Ronnie's knowledge enhanced those visits too. Most importantly, although Ronnie's credentials as Keeper of the Quaich mean that his expertise in whisky is unparalleled, he helped our group of relative novices to have fun learning and to feel comfortable trusting our own tastes. This is an amazing gift--we will think fondly of Ronnie every time we drink whisky in the months and years to come!

Gordon was a great host… as non motorcyclists we were put immediately at ease. The trike was tremendous fun- wind in hair and gobsmacking views! Comfortable too, even with a recent new knee! We have stayed in Edinburgh for 20 years, but this was a birthday treat and was new on many levels. Tourist or local - you will enjoy. We had a blast!!!

We booked this tour 4 months prior to our cruise stop in Glasgow (Greenock) to visit the Trossachs National Park area. We came out of the ship ahead of schedule and William was already there so we had an early start to our schedule. This trip was met to celebrate my wife’s new decade of wisdom and William took the time to understand her interests and adjust some of our itinerary accordingly and we followed his recommendations. As we were ahead of schedule, William proposed to make a stop by the Kelpies (it was worth it we love horses) and then we headed towards Stirling Castle (excellent visit), made a detour by a nice store who also were showcasing Highlands cows by the parking lot. We spent over an hour in Inveraray (the castle was closed in peak season after 2 years of Covid we didn’t understand why but this was not a surprise as we already knew… and you can still get very good views of it even if you can’t get into it !) and William was right on schedule at our agreed upon time for leaving. Then, we made a stop by Luss before heading back to the ship at the scheduled time. William proved a very good defensive driver and knew the area extremely well. The car had clean windows, strong A/C, and good visibility for sightseeing. Albeit expensive, this proved to be a great excursion that enabled us to see at least the equivalent of 4 ship excursions while being just the two of us and control the itinerary. We would recommend Aura Journeys for any of your adventures in South West Scotland !

Visiting Edinburgh to see some old friends (who live here now) and we spent a fantastic day with Will! I worked with Kevin to modify their Stirling tour and see some of the sites associated with my Scottish ancestors as well as get a "wee" taste of the highlands. Will was brilliant and I really appreciated that he worked in some special things, like heading to the church where my ancestors had registered their birth/baptism/marriage. I also quite liked that we stopped for lunch at a fantastic place that was a mash up of an upscale farmers' market and country restaurant. Really was a fantastic day. My only complaint is that it all went by too quickly.

One member of our group said on a scale of 1-5, he would give Pete a 10! We were a group of six who had a 4 day private tour of Scotland with the most time spent on the Isle of Skye. Pete quickly discerned our interests and took us to many places that we would not have seen otherwise. He had incredible knowledge, was professional, kind and has a great sense of humor. This was everyone's first trip to Scotland and he made sure that we had a taste of everything we were interested in.
Pete truly made the trip special. If you are looking for a guide, Pete is your man!

Years ago (too many now that I think of it — I need to go back asap!) I had a whiskey tasting with Neil. He is incredibly knowledgeable. This is ideal for beginners, too, as he makes the process of learning more about whiskey accessible to all — which was especially helpful since I didn’t have very much whiskey experience at the time. Highly recommend!

I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this service!!! Our driver, Pat, was so lovely, had many surprises in store for us (including cookies for my kids) but saved the best for last…he knew my 9yr olds dream was to pet a “hairy coo”(Highland Cow) and Pat went above and beyond. Not only did he surprise us with a stop-zero tourists, just us!-to see the coos, he brought out bags of veg for the kids to feed them, too! It was magical. He was so knowledgeable and polite. He pointed out several spots for our outdoorsy crew to slip off into the wild and mingle with the fairies. He was bright and cheerful and on time, even when we had an obscene amount of luggage(4girls🤣). The castles chosen for this itinerary were perfection-kids loved exploring Black Ness and the highlight of our trip was staying a night with The Green Lady(who was not impressed by my teens baggy attire😱)@ Castle Tulloch. We will DEFINITELY be coming back for another trip, so much more to see and do, and I wouldn’t use any company but this one! Flawless trip, memories minted in gold, we 💗Scotland! Thank you to Michael Bell and Pat Frill

This was just a brillIant experience from start to finish. 10 of us did tours and tastings across Campbeltown, Islay and Oban and haven’t stopped talking about it since.

Whisky Wheels organised an excellent combination of distillery and independent tastings, as well as tours. We visited Cadenhead’s, Springbank, Ardbeg, Bunnahabhain, Ardnahoe, Oban and had our own bespoke private tasting.

Despite us just exiting covid restrictions and some distilleries not being open for tours there were no compromises, which is all credit to the organisation of the tour operator. The itinerary was jam packed without feeling rushed, our driver and guide were incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating and went above and beyond to make our trip amazing - even helping us ship bottles back to our local addresses.

I’ve done other whisky tours and this completely blew them out the water. Would highly recommend and am already thinking about where we’ll go with Whisky Wheels next year.

    Simply awesome!

We recently went on the 4 Day Wonders of Scotland tour guided by the lovely Alberto. It was the best 4 days of our whole trip in the UK. Alberto was the most fantastic driver/guide and full of so many facts, history and secrets about Scotland. He’d often take us to an “Alberto Secret” along the way that was either an amazing viewpoint, beautiful scenery or a tucked away building or garden to visit. We loved learning more about Scotland and exploring the Highlands, it was everything we wanted it to be and so much more.

We were super comfortable and safe in the van, the highlights and stops we had were varied and excellent. We saw so many castles, sensational highland scenery, whiskey distilleries, beautiful gardens, amazing cathedrals and chapels, cute highland cows and so much more.

Opting for the accommodation included option was such a relief for us and we had a comfortable place to rest our heads each night with a full breakfast the next day to prepare us for the day.

Thank you so much, 10/10 would use them again for our next Scotland adventure ☺️

For those of you who wants to check out some of the distilleries in Scotland, you are at the right place and in the good hands of Mike. He is so knowledgeable about everything in Scotland, be it the past or the present. We booked him for our Speyside Whisky tour and we came out happily and satisfied. Will plan to revisit again in future and Mike for sure. Highly recommended.
