Was great to be back, have been frequenting Opium (now Legends) for 15 years & is still great & the best venue for rock & metal in Edinburgh.
The music on this night was a little less mainstream rock & metal than we usually get on a Sat night & there were a few attendees that were a little aggressive & could've done with being asked to leave. The drinks prices have risen but are still reasonable for the area.
All in all I'll be back as soon as I can 🤘🏾

We had a private booth for a hen party which was good as we were able to select a drinks package between us for the night. Table was good and right next to the dance floor which had its pros and cons. We were able to dance at our table whilst also being on the dance floor however some drunk people fell into our table which resulted in some of our party losing their drinks to the floor! The bouncer was saw everything refused to do anything about compensating for the drinks. Good night out but young crowd.

Place is generally fine but marks off for having Gender Neutral toilets as nobody wants that. It's one of those ones that has urinals and cubicles in the same room so really not a good idea.

Electric Circus has become an important addition to Edinburgh's live music scene, staging everything from local acts playing to their mates to internationally renowned artists. It's a good size - not too big to put a smaller band off booking it and not too small to be overlooked by bigger acts. So far this year I've seen Edinburgh based indie band Quiet as a Mouse and touring acts like RnB/Pop-star, heading for the big time, Natalie Prass and underground spoken word/rap legend B Dolan. There isn't a genre this venue won't book.

It's not just a live music venue though. You can book it for private parties, there are karaoke rooms, they offer cocktail lessons and can provide a selection of hot and cold food.

The toilets are clean, the bar is well stocked and there's a very relaxed atmosphere. It's a cool place.

Well you wouldn't know the acoustics were so awful we couldn't here the comedians despite being less than 20ft away.

The bar staff while friendly were painfully slow.

Sort your PA system out and it may be worth a visit!
