Visited very briefly while attending a family wedding in the church across the street - wedding party used the beautiful grounds to take their wedding photographs. Very secluded and pretty area right on the river Nith, must be glorious in the summer months. Wel planted and landscaped with interesting specimens and statues of Peter.

We had a fantastic Day with Lesley! Our guided tour from Glasgow into the highlands to see Invergarry Castle was an experience we will never forget. This trip was slightly outside their regular trek, but Solway was entirely accommodating to customize a route specifically for us Canadian travelers! A comfortable journey that was at no time rushed. Lesley made sure we had enough time to take in the history- she knew this was an important journey for us. Very pleasant and extremely well researched - I would recommend Solway to anyone wanting to experience Scotland's history.

What I love about this group is it’s simplicity to organise your social activities through their website. Click on the activity you wish to go to, it’s all arranged for you by the team. Should you wish to cancel for whatever reason you just click again to remove yourself. No phone calls and nobody questions why. This group will meet all your social needs and more, and all for £20 per year, (yes you read correctly £20 per year...

Bobby Jess takes you on a walking tour of Dumfries Robert Burns sites - his two homes, the Robert Burns center, churchyard, statue, etc. He meets you by appointment at the Burns statue in the heart of Dumfries and walks you through town and through local history and Burns' biography, lacing the walk with his recitations of Burns poems and many delightful anecdotes. You won't meet a talent like this very often - he is a master of relaxed, low key presentation of Burns' beautiful works. This is a wonderful and unforgettable way to visit Dumfries and a bargain price.

DART is a delight to wander round in the historic town of Dumfries. The trail takes you round unique individual galleries and shops where beautifully made art and crafts can be viewed, purchased or commissioned. Maps available at Tourist Information or any of the places on the trail. Check out the green venues opening hours, red venues by appointments. All friendly and welcoming
