My husband and I took the distillery tour this week and thought it was fantastic value for money. Over an hour of being taken through the entire process of production and with 3 drams of different malts to taste. Our guide was extremely informative and willing (and able) to answer a vast amount of questions from the group. Well worth a visit whilst in Oban.

Great place to visit, fabulous views over Oban and you can see lots of islands including Mull.
Car park right next to it if you don’t fancy the long walk uphill from the town, just a few steps up to monument but there is a slope also if you are not able to do steps.

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They make sure if you are a blue badge holder they will get you near the lift as the stairs are quite steep. Fast efficient booking in , loading and unloading.

Although the gardens closed early (12.00) due to expected strong winds we did enjoy our short walk around. The viewport is well worth visiting as the view is amazing.

I went in there as I had time to kill waiting for a boat. It was lovely and was very interesting to see. It’s free but give a donation to keep it going

A really nice spot to visit. Situated not far from the main road and easy to find. Plenty parking and the castle itself may be a ruin, but it was still worthy of a visit. The exterior wall is intact but the interior is no more than ruins with a towered roofed section which you go up through to get onto the walk which takes you around the wall of the castle. Still ....... a really historical place that definitely worthy of a visit if you're in the area.
Also, there are ruins if a Chapel in the woods here also.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Dunollie Castle. Staff very helpful and friendly. Our tour guide Jamie was excellent, so enthusiastic and informative. Great views from the Castle. The Kettle Tearoom served very enjoyable snacks. Disappointed not to see the red squirrels but staff assured us that they can often be seen.

Had a lovely week in Oban. Would recommend Ganavan Sands. Has a great sandy beach, toilets and a food van. Try taking the ferry to Mull and the public service bus to Tobermory. The driver was brilliant wish I could remember his name.

The ladies took time to explain what there is to do in the area whilst giving a little history of many of the locations.

To the comment Neil from England about our beautiful historical bridge I need to say this . Your offensive comments make you look foolish not only is that bridge of significant importance it is also over 100 years old and was the longest cantilever bridge in Europe before our rail bridge. Please take time to note the historical value of such engineering at a time where. Technology was non existent. I'm sure the locals of Oban and Connel will appreciate your comments. Stay in England as Scotland has no time for arrogant stobish ignorance

Fascinating museum with imaginative and clear ways of explaining all sorts of things about the sea. Not a massive museum but an incredibly creative use of space and different methods of communication! We have never ever previously watched a video in a bin! A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours including a lovely cup of tea in the cafe!

Worth a visit. I first saw it while competing in a triathlon here. No time to stop. So back we came with all the family form an exploration. The track has been tarmaced almost all of the way to the tearoom. Interesting story and good views. Don’t forget the cave/tunnel underneath (not for flip flops).

There is so much to do in Oban including the distillery, boat trips and McCaig’s Tower. It is a short walk to Dunollie Castle, well worth the trip. There are plenty of excellent restaurants where fish is prominent on the menu.

Small museum. Lots of stuff. Could do with a bit more interpretation. The blue folders are a bit too detailed while the displays say what objects are but not why they are there and what they have to do with the island. Great place to visit though.

    What a great location!

Trip took roughly 20 minutes and is abit steep but well worth it!

Fantastic views of Oban, the ocean and the surrounding mountains.

Has an old compass monument that shows every point of interest nearby and how many miles to each one.
