Beautiful "easy to walk" coastal path with lovely sea and countryside views - would highly recommend!

We had a great time here, not just our wee grandson! There's so much to do and I even ventured in for a paddle on the beach. The park itself has plenty to keep children amused and there's a snack bar with hot food and ice cream. The railway wasn't operational when we were there, but I'm sure children would love it - Papa was very disappointed not to see it working!

The park's right next to the beach so a hop down there is compulsory and we were lucky to have great weather for it.

Another attraction for the children is the number of trains passing on the nearby main line. There's also loads of parking spaces and the whole park was very clean and tidy with people respecting Covid regulations.

    Definitely a must-visit for families.

Beautiful sandy beach which is great for a long walk with or without the dogs. Access to the beach is not great but we’ll worth the effort

Walk around the pond before and after work most days and am never let down by the variety of birds to stop and watch for a wee while.....from the largest Swans and Herons to the smallest finches.... .a real enjoyment. Has to be said the local volunteer group keeping the pond and its surrounds in good order deserve a huge amount if credit-----well done and thank you

Arbirlot is a pretty little village a few miles west of Arbroath, and it’s certainly worth a stop at the car park beside the bridge to take in the 23ft waterfall and surrounding scenery. The waterfall originates from the Elliot Water, which flows through here to merge with the North sea at Elliot, Arbroath. There’s also a nature trail through the countryside starting at the bridge ( but at this time of year it’s rather soggy and boggy.) The attractive Parish Church ( built 1832) which overlooks the falls, is also worthy of attention.

The woods are transformed at this time of year - and there’s nothing more satisfying than crunching over a deep carpet of crisp amber leaves 🍁🍂 that glow like 🔥 in the October sun.
Then, every so often you’ll find 🍄 ‘shroom cities and villages that have sprung up in the shadow of trees. Some of them alone are plate-sized, and pleasingly sculptural to the eye.
I’d recommend wearing Wellington boots or substantial waterproof ones at this time of year, as some parts bordering the woods are soggy waterlogged mudfests. Easy to access as carpark’s just off the A92. Not particularly deep woods, but attractive views over rural Angus countryside. Various local walks are signposted.
