If you visited Derry during the Troubles and have memories of tanks, barbed wire, personnel carriers, and troops on the streets, the site of the Bogside as a tourist attraction is jarring.
We decide to take the opportunity to also visit Derry City and see all of the sights there.

The Fuildhall is a must visit also is wheelchair accessible, has loo facilities and a coffee shop with an outside area with a view of the River Foyle and Peace Bridge
The stained glass windows show the history of Derry and the guide adds his own views to it which makes the tour very interesting.

Bustling with families, joggers and lovers - this is a beautiful area to walk or stroll on each side of the Foyle festooned with flowers and stunning views of the Guildhall etc.
Wonderful walk over the bridge and great views, one side has all the history, with the walls etc., the other has the recently refurbished Erdington area which is a wonderful site with lovely views.

Free Derry Corner is a historical landmark in the Bogside neighbourhood of Derry, Northern Ireland, which lies in the intersection of the Lecky Road, Rossville Street and Fahan Street.
Probably one of the most unique landmarks on the planet, and to the uninitiated, one of the most curious.

The view looking up the street toward the diamond as well as from the top looking toward the gate are both interesting because of the quaing Shops, and wonderful Crafts.
I was delighted to see all of the different types of shops and cafes at this site.

Original altar stones mark the sites of altars from 546AD.
A plaque outside the church states that this present building was erected on the site of the first church founded by Columba in 546 AD.

Visitors will also have the added attraction of being able to view one of the finest collections of meeting rooms used by the 'Loyal Orders'.
Very friendly patrons, unlike other parts of the city where a biased and slanted view of the citys history is now sadly peddled.

And it will take a full half day for fit people to do the circuit crossing both Bridges by foot but views are spectacular & the river they cross is reason for Derrys existance.
At the we did find time to walk down and view all the murals and to read all about the troubles.
