Fantastic park, loads of trails to walk, very nice playground for the kids, boat/paddleboard hire. We visited the natural centre as well and the kids loved it. Great day out

We always enjoy a stroll around these lovely gardens whatever the time of year. Our Grandchildren are now enjoying the delights also.

The gardens were beautiful with the final blast of rhododendrons and azaleas on show.
For me, the best part was the doll's house museum - absolutely fascinating, the detail was amazing and far more extensive than I had expected.
The pre-ordered afternoon teas were good and tasty although a flask of tea other than the bottled water provided would have been welcome. We had opted for this as we had a dog with us and we enjoyed it at one of the picnic tables outside.
However having to join the general lunch queue for 20 minutes to collect a pre-ordered item ( already packed in hampers ) did make me a bit grumpy!

We visited with another family on the spur of the moment. Baulked at the entry price to start with, but it was probably worth it. One of the best castles I have ever been to! It was a fascinating fusion of castle and stately home. The tour of the dry moat was absolutely fantastic and the room guides all knowledgeable and friendly. Give yourself a whole day for a visit as we didn't really have enough time to explore the gardens (arrived at midday). Would be improved if there was some kind of "hook" for the kids (e.g. trail) as it was a long day for them and my day would have been easier had they been engaged more. Probably much better for older kids / when castles or other similar relevant projects are on at school!

I booked the Harris Hawks Walk as a birthday present. When you arrive at the centre you are then driven to woods about 5 minutes away. Our guide Debbie introduced us to Phoenix, a Harris Hawk about 2-3 years old. We had a wonderful couple of hours walking through the woods. Debbie was so interesting and knowledgeable on the subject of raptors and Phoenix did not disappoint. My partner and I felt privileged to be able to get so close to such a handsome bird. I would definitely recommend this experience. All the staff were very friendly, special thanks to Debbie.

Lovely place to fish, camp and spend time. Camped 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed time there, with plenty to do on site, or local walks and cycles. Fishing is great. Also enjoyed the café.

Super visit to West Wittering beach, first visit since pre covid and it was good to be back. Parking is super expensive and you need to book in advance, the weekends on sunny days get booked up and there is no where locally to park you need to be in the car park unless you want a very long hike to get to the beach. We took our own food so can't comment on the catering. There are toilets should you need them. The beach is huge and when we visiting the tide was out so you can walk for miles until you reach deeper water. It is a fabulous location for children as it feels so safe there, The day we visited it was very windy so it is a good idea to take a sun tent and wind breaks. There is plenty of space to spread out so it never feels crowded. If you don't want to be on the flat part of the beach there are sand dunes towards the back of the beach, great for leaning on and the little ones to explore. We love the Witterings and will be back.

Nice to walk up and down for great views of the coastline, but not much else to do other than a few amusements and cafe/ice cream kiosk, however it’s a lovely feature of the town.

As National Trust members we are able to visit Nymans as often we wish. Good for walks in the beautiful gardens, good coffee shop, garden centre and shop.

We came here yesterday and spent a few hours on the beach. We arrived around 11am and I had expected to queue for parking etc, but actually it was very painless to find and park. As you reach the front, there is a car park immediately in front of you that did appear very busy, but we turned left and found another car park about 100 meters down that was much less hectic. £11 for the whole day which I guess isn't too bad. We based ourselves on the beach about level with the play area, which was definitely quieter - it seems that the closer you walk toward the estuary/amusement park and food/toilets, the busier it gets. We were about 0.4 miles east of that.
Top of the beach was shingle, but as the tide goes out sand is exposed, ideal for pitching a tent or whatever you have. The beach is sandy and shallow, with minimal waves so absolutely ideal for young kids, and the water was far warmer than expected- ideal for swimming!
We walked down and did a few of the amusements (£19 for 10 tickets) which is for various small rides. There were people fishing and crabbing in the estuary, if you like that sort of thing. Plenty of choice of fast food, and ice creams. We ended up in the Harvester just next to the amusements as we didnt fancy a hot dog or fish and chips, and this was perfectly acceptable.
There are 2 sets of toilets that I saw, we used both and they were both remarkably clean given the use that they were given throughout the day.
Overall I would highly recommend this as a less busy destination than Brighton or the Witterings, we will definitely be back. And just down the road from Arundel castle if you want to make a weekend of it.

My wife and I have just been to Tinwood vineyard and did the tour which was hosted by the owner who is the driving force behind the vineyard's success which was recognised recently in ani ternational wine tasting competition where Tinwood Blanc de Blanc won a gold medal for sparking wine and was one of only 2 which wasn't Champagne to be awarded Gold., their Brut git a Sil er medal. The tastings we had included some detail and information from the owner just before we tried all 3 of their sparkling wines, I strongly recommend you order the cheese platter it was well worth the money and included their homemade honey, this is a treat for anyone interested in sparkling wine.

Visited West Dean with my mum. Prior to visiting I had called to discuss hire of a wheelchair snd parking. The staff were very helpful snd knowledgeable. The glasshouses and gardens are stunning. Full of an abundance of plants, flowers, trees, veg, fruit and colour, beautifully planted, a stunning pergola and many different areas to see and walk around . We had a cuppa in the restaurant and our drinks were brought to the table without having to ask. Toilets were clean and access good. Highly recommend a visit to West Dean. Thank you West Dean.
