I would certain recommend it to anyone in the area, I have been to much bigger and more famous collections and museums but this certainly is educational and very enjoyable way to spend some free time.

Walsall Leather Museum Walsall
#4 of 74 Museums in West Midlands
It's a place we've always wanted to see as we enjoy museums as a family.
While other similar museums might suffer from repetition, the Leather Museum doesn't.
Coventry Transport Museum Coventry
#5 of 74 Museums in West Midlands
Normally free museums tend to be reflected in having very little there to do, but we enjoyed a good 2 hours here, and the interactive displays with actors giving informative talks was a great idea.
These are awe-inspiring machines built to the edge of technology p. Free to visit which just puts this place on a pedestal over other museums; considering its size, the collections and the history on display.

National Motorcycle Museum Birmingham
#6 of 74 Museums in West Midlands
It's an interesting coincidence that the two best motorcycle museums in the world are both located on the outskirts of a city named Birmingham.
‘Try a bike’ day is fantastic way to enjoy the museum own bikes, to be able to ride different bikes is a must, I rode 8 out of 11 bikes on the day, I enjoyed riding a Triumph so much, I have just purchased one to...

Our visit started with a wonderfully warm welcome from Andrew and Rebecca, and their passion for this small but fascinating museum was infectious.
Selly Manor Birmingham
#8 of 74 Museums in West Midlands
Even with its historic style and winding staircase the house still feels like a genuine, welcoming museum with more rooms and floors than originally anticipated.
Manor House is a super museum with fascinating exhibits, many of them saying "please touch me".
Barber Institute of Fine Arts Birmingham
#9 of 74 Museums in West Midlands
Birmingham University includes several museums, some little known, but this is the jewel in the crown.
Great museum to get a sense of the prevailing artistic context of the era in context and, sometime clues to the mindset and orientation of the individual artist.
Blakesley Hall Birmingham

Ruth was lovely and is planning on doing more ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) open early mornings at other museums too - which is a wonderful opportunity for the ASD people to learn history.
Built in 1590 and a museum since the 1930s thanks to the wisdom of the city council.

Midland Air Museum Coventry
#14 of 74 Museums in West Midlands
A proper "dusty round the edges" gem that all museums should feel like ( some are far too clinical ) Lots of interesting artefacts, models and history to get absorbed in.
This is very typical of air museums - it appears to be run by very enthusiastic and dedicated people most likely volunteers.

I took my mom here as she was born in the Jewellery Quarter and so we go back sometimes for a mooch about, to see the museums and for my mom to reminisce.

I loved taking my son when he was a baby to museums, just the sounds of creaky floorboards, smells andsights of the art.

Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum Birmingham
#30 of 74 Museums in West Midlands
Thinktank is one of the most wonderful science museums there are.
However considering the cuts to funding to such things, to have such a venue I suppose we must expect to pay for what we get, especially as there are many free museums in the city.
