Hi,
I'm planing visit in Newcastle so I'm searching for some interesting places worth visiting. Of course the main attractions I already found but would like to ask for some more secret nice places, a bit quirky, unusual, rare and specific for Newcastle. Is there any good viewpoint? (I heard only about top floor of Baltic Flour Mills) If it helps I like walking and Im not interested in shopping ;-) Best park or green place?

Answer: You may like a tour of the Victoria Tunnel which stretches from the Ouseburn under the city. It's narrow and dark (you get a hard hat and torch) but has a fascinating history from when it was built originally for trucks to carry coal down to the Tyne to use as an air raid shelter in WW2. You must book in advance.
