What travelers are saying
- Annaleisa ReilyJersey, UK3 contributionsSadly visited at a time of year where the house is closed, however we will return. The extensive grounds were well paved and we enjoyed our walk around the deer park, admiring the many carpeted areas of joyus snowdrops.Written March 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Linda WIpswich, UK28 contributionsWe as a large group with young children we were a little unsure of what to expect.
We had a great day, walking, climbing, entering caves and follies. We arrived at 10.30 am and didn’t leave until 4pm. I think you need to be good at making your own adventures but a great place to visit for something a little different.Written January 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carmen SantiagoMountain View, CA116 contributionsAwesome day hike, spectacular views! The trail is not marked clearly (atleast for our American experience). One access is from the Bog visitor centre. After you park the car, look for the viewpoint sign, and go up. Once you get to the stones, the climbing and views - miles of grasslands, blue sky - make it all well worth it. We went in Feb, the wind was strong, and it was fairly cold. Grab warm layers, and a beanie. As you trample along, remember that you are walking on stones 500 million old!Written February 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KBNZ666Perth, Australia225 contributionsThe interior of this church was beautiful, especially the ceiling. I love looking at all of the intricate details inside buildings like this. They really put a lot of love into the creation and made them a work of art.
Realised afterwards that my other half was wearing his inverted pentagram necklace, but he didn't get smighted by god so it was all good.Written January 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Especially of note is the magnificent Jesse Window of c. 1350 and the late mediaeval glass "bought in" in the early C19th from northern Europe. There is also a fine carved ceiling over the nave, dating to c. 1450 and other monuments of note.
