On the recommendations of friends, my wife and I spent an enjoyable afternoon in the Kelham Island District, with plenty of pubs and cafes and this wonderful museum.

Great deal of local history as well.

Nicely kept gardens up near the museum, a building which itself is historical and has loads of local history features from the Roman era to modern day, a small cafe inside with a well priced range of refreshments.
The park has acres of grassy areas, a bandstand, a quiet garden, a fountain, cooker trees, a train that ferries children and adults around the park and sometimes even donkey rides.
