Visited the Tropical Butterfly House in Sheffield and was utterly charmed. It's a haven for butterfly lovers and a great educational spot for kids. Lost a star due to the café service, but the wildlife and vibrant butterflies more than made up for it. A must-visit!

A place which has been on my tick list for a few years. I eventually managed to get there whilst the exhibition was taking place over the weekend. I never realised how much was covered. I found it interesting speaking to some of the exhibitors and Museum staff. So much to learn but the info panels had just about the right amount of info before boring people. A very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Overall the place is absolutely lovely with some stunning plants and flowers. I have visited a few times but noticed on my visit this weekend that the flower/plant beds inside desperately need watering as some of the plants had gone brown and completely died. You could see that nothing had been watered for a long time. Nevertheless less this is a lovely place to visit with family and friends. The gardens outside are kept immaculate and I did see someone working on them during our visit.

The museum is the gem in Kelham island.
The best free to enter museum I've come across. Lots of displays over three floors.
It covers the history of iron and Steel making in general, applications of steel and the history of Sheffield itself.
They even had a section on slide rulers and early calculators such as the 1970s models from Sinclair, HP and Texas, they had a TI57 calculator, a real collectors item, forty years since I've seen one.
    The place has free toilets.
I was here on Friday lunchtime, very few visitors, almost equal numbers of staff.
The downside was the Kelham island area. It is Sheffield's attempt at redevelopment of an industrial area near a river, the development is small, and too far away from the city centre itself. The place was almost deserted. Other cities such as Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester have done this on a much larger scale and done it better. They have thriving communities, this place is almost a ghost town.

Allways wanted to go to this theatre and wasn't disappointed. The show White Christmas was one of the best things we have seen in over 50 years of theatregoing. All seats have a briiliant view and the coloured door system is excellent. They could have a look at the interval drinks system because that was chaos. But this did not take away from the experience, all round terrific. WE WILL BE BACK.

Great place to sit and relax on a cold day. Always good to take a group and have a packed lunch. Can get busy between 12 to 2 though.

A great day out for the family. We had a 3 course meal in the panarama restaurant today. We pre ordered and it was £16.00 per person. The food was great and so was the service with drinks and bets angel looked after our bets and was very helpful.
I like that you could have a breather and a chat between the courses didn’t feel rushed. It’s great to go down the track and see that dogs. We had a lovely afternoon and will 100% come back 👍🏼

Over 200 hundred acres of variety. Great walks with hard surface paths. There are lakes and streams.
Farm and a cafe. Good parking.
Had a great couple of hours here.
The cafe is only doing take away pending refurbishment.

This was a car journey for us but we'll worth the drive. This beautiful valley has many waterfalls, bridges and even stepping stones. The path threads it's way along following the river through the trees, mill stones and bridges. There are a couple of places where you cross a road but that would depend upon how far you walk.

The small car park was full so we, along with many others, parked on the roadside. At the lower end of the trail there is a cafe, toilets and a children's play area.

The walk is largely level and accessible although a pram or wheelchair wouldn't be practical.

We really appreciated our visit to this distillery and the gin and liquor tasting. Only being 8 people on the tour allowed an intimate feel where we could ask questions and see at close hand the way things are made. The small scale of production meant that we could see the machines up close to help to understand the process.
