Nice clean and bright shopping mall, although it's outlets it's pretty much the same prices as the usual stores. We arrived about 4pm and it was quite busy, and we started to look round, we bought in the Haribo store, Fossil and Pro-Cook where all staff were friendly and helpful. The disappointing thing for us is there were a few other shops we wanted to spend in one of which was Lindt but they were shut at 5pm as were a quite a few shops all having the same generic sign on their door saying they were shut due to unforeseen circumstances. The shopping centre was advertised as being open until 8 so they shouldn't be allowing shops to shut so early, we were unable to come back another time as on holiday in the area so they lost our business.
We all keep hearing about the impact the last 18 months has had on business so why close when there are lots of customers shopping in the centre wanting to spend money. It also has a longer term impact because you feel you don't want to give them your business in the future.

This is the place for quality items on the more expensive side. Situated near York minster it is quite busy but has some great shops like the Teddy bear shop and Kathe Wohlfahrt christmas shop but it was so busy I couldn't actually get in. On this street you will also find shops like The white company, Oliver Bonas and the cat gallery where you can pick up a map for the York cat trail and spot a few cats on buildings on Stonegate.

Came here to pick up lunch recently, as I heard about Los Moros in the market. We came a little early, so it wasn't that busy and not everything was set up. But still, it looks like a good social hub. Also, right next to some interesting trivia for Harry Potter enthusiasts!

Similar to box park in London. It was very well organised for Covid. We queued out front and waited for someone to show us to a table. Most places can be ordered via Deliveroo which was a good idea. We had to wait a little while for our food, but it was very busy

I enjoyed this exhibit but the price should have been more in line with seeing a move, because that is basically what this is.

Visited here with my girlfriend on a day trip to York and what a delightful place this is
So many lovely things to look at and some reasonable prices- bought a secret present for my girlfriend which I will keep until I give it to her on Valentine’s Day
Always worth a visit to see what’s new
They also have a nice cafe but we didn’t try that this time

With the Jorvik Centre still not scheduled to open until April 2017, the adjacent St. Mary's Church offers a suitable space to tell the Viking story in York. The wooden boat dominates the display but the surrounding explanatory panels are very interesting and relate to accompanying artefacts. Also, there is an army of appropriately clad highly enthusiastic guides.

Fine selection of lovely crafts and jewellery. Found the right gift on this occasion, as on several over the years. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff, in a relaxing, characterful environment. The gallery suits and complements York.

Always like to come here to walk under the umbrellas, but this time, it is under lights...can only presume this is either Christmas or that they have made them the new feature. Lots of love shops and attrations to visit...but remember to book these during busy times!

Visited for lunch with 3 others, wonderful vegetarian food, all very fresh in a Mediterranean style. Beautiful gardens if the weather is warm enough. Will definitely visit again.

Staff and food and drinks all fine - but why is it always cold in here?! It's the same all year round!

We have just come back from the BBC Countryfile Live and we met the family who run this gallery, Ails and Greg McGee. They were very persuasive for us to pop in and check out their selection of Contemporary Photography from the man who owns Castle Howard, the Hon Nick Howard himself. Now, first of all, we have to say Castle Howard is an amazing place, and is perfect for both families and serious aficionados of heritage. It really is a world class place. The best photos you can buy that show its beauty are from Nick Howard's collection, and the only place to buy that collection is from York's According to McGee, which is opposite Clifford's Tower. The photos are displayed on the wall and in a rack, and they are truly wonderful, and even very affordable. Go and check it out, these photos look like oil paintings. Thanks Greg and Ails, your company was very good.

In a town with so much tourist art, it’s great to see an independent gallery full of contemporary graphic, street and thought provoking art. We enjoyed some inspirational chats with owner Craig and even brought a part of “Art Of Protest” home with us.
