What travelers are saying
- JuneSingapore, Singapore20 contributionsWe enjoyed exploring Winter Wonderland in Dec 2022, albeit being a tad bit commercialised and many stores were selling repeated items. We still enjoyed taking pictures and came earlier in the day to avoid the crowds. It started getting crowded in the afternoon so we left, might want to factor in that if you wish to avoid overly crowded places. We would recommend this place just to enjoy the christmas vibes and take some nice pictures, would probably spend about 2 hours or so here.Written June 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jane OLincoln, MA40 contributionsMy wife and I went in Wimbledon as we are big fans of tennis and very much wanted to experience Wimbledon up close and personal. Our tour guide was Jo who was a fabulous lady with a depth and breadth of history and experience, and a great sense of humor. We learned a great deal and had a ton of fun! She made it so entertaining! We did some great shopping at the gift store and had a lovely lunch in the village ! Highly recommend this!Written March 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Amir H17 contributionsThis is a really nice attraction if you're not planning to do the Studio tour. It has a lot of photos from behind the scenes, and some green screen experiences.
The crew is super-helpful and all-knowing as far as Harry Potter trivia goes, and there's a photographic treasure hunt which really enhances the experience.
All in all, it's a great way to pass a couple of hours and enjoy a butter beer :)Written March 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There were fewer exhibits and more people at the Show this time. The number of people there made seeing any of the gardens arduous. I think that the Show was oversold. In addition, many of gardens we did see were minimalist in nature, which is not our taste. On the positive side, the merchandise presented by the venders was incredible (as usual). Was it worth attending? Yes. Was it as good as in the past? No.Written June 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stylishvue29 contributionsA great event with lots of crowd support throughout. The bag drop off and event flows well and is very organised. The route of the marathon has too many miles in Canary Wharf. It is a fantastic event and there is a lot of atmosphere to it.Written April 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sunshine6662 contributionsBrought my mum and my autie son to see this exhibition. Enjoyed it very much. Would have liked to have seen more but the way it was laid out meant I could take through the exhibits with my son and ensure he could see them all. He was impressed and learned a lot. A lovely collection.Written March 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BLALeeds, UK13 contributionsI'm upset by the reviews of notting hill carnival.
carnival is a caribbean street party! it's believed to originated from canboulay, do your reserach!
it is full of soca and calypso and sound systems and is made for chippin down the road.
notting hill has a lot of work to do to remind the public to respect the art form of creating mas costumes. it gets rowdy and Monday is deffo not a family event. it's carnival!!!!! made for adults!!!!!
children's day is on Sunday. if you want a more child friendly time, get a children's costume and go with a mas band. you will have security and a more sectioned off area.
NHC is Europe's biggest street party so expect huge crowds but good food! it's nor everybody's cup of tea but to be real it's not made for everybody. it's MEANT to be a celebration of Caribbean music, history and culture. if you don't like this culture, don't go!
over the years it has strayed from caribbean culture but eventually I hope it gets back there!Written May 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lovely weekend with great range of gardens.Next year we will visit another map area, plan a route and search out the freebies. Highly recommended.Written June 14, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Pedro MLisbon, Portugal50 contributionsI was lucky enough to see both of them, 2018 and 2016. It is truly amazing, it's cold and the city is full of light and people are happy and walking around smiling, it really is unique and you cannot control the smile while you discover your city under so many different lights. If you take some music it's simply bliss.Written February 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Reasonable50Greenwich, Connecticut3,912 contributionsWe happened upon the event while strolling. Fun and modern. Lots of young people and families. The Somerset House is the perfect venue. It was crowded and exhibits went deep into the bowels of the House. The scented wallpaper room was our favorite.Written September 22, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- I Love Tennis1 contributionGreat match! Entering tennis from both of them; Federer the better man at the end of the day. Sorry to the Djokovic fans. :|
Beside the tennis, the venue. Well organised necessary security checks in place. Must say though, EXPENSIVE FOOD! £10 JUST FOR HALF A SANDWICH AND 500ml WATER!!!
But that kind of price is expected at a venue like the O2 so, eat downstairs at a place like Wasabi for Brunch, as after the doubles match it’s 12:00 and you are starving.
Or you could sneak food in... ;)Written February 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very over priced for one big room and two off rooms. We was welcomed to leave our pram at the start but with not knowing what to expect we took our buggy incase we needed to put our toddler in. We left the buggy to one side of the stairs to go on the viewing balcony to be “told off” by staff for leaving it there. No signs to state pushchairs could not be left here or signage to advise to use lifts (no sign in view). We was here for around 45 to 60 mins at most. Very over priced for what it is, wouldn’t come back and wouldn’t recommend.
What I would say on the plus side: very clean, loved the idea for beanbags on the floors to relax and watch, viewing balcony was great.
General feedback; could make it more family friendly but having a children’s area. The big area has one button for them to push, and the interactive screens which are ok. Things to touch, a toy area, just not as child friendly as we would have liked.
This is a review from someone that does lots of days out all over and doesn’t mind spending on a pricey dayout.Written June 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It continued like that inside with steep scruffy staircases and bored looking staff. The static rooms were interesting but most of the artworks looked like they were ordered from a cheap photo print company. All a bit amateurish. However we were able to glean much of VG's tragically short but brilliant career. The VR room was nearly empty, not surprising as they wanted another fiver to go in which seemed a stitch up and to be honest we couldn't see the point.
Finally we came to the immersive room and at last it lived up to our expectations. Seeing VG's paintings come to life with some nice impressionist music was magical and truly was immersive. However Van Gogh's life and beautiful work really deserves something more professional than this cheap looking pop up show.Written June 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. All the girls loved getting dressed up in their smart summer dresses. Tip: Wear wedges not heals on grass !!!
The polo is of the highest standard and it’s great to watch as you are right at the side the pitch (obviously protected by a low chest high barrier).
The food on site is really good. Lots of choices and definitely in the “posh takeaway” category.
Lots of bars: gin bars, pimms bars, cocktail bars and general bars.
There are even a few pop up shops to browse!
There is lots of bench table seating and seats in a grandstand if you prefer that. The bench table seats go very quickly so you need to get there early to grab one.
All in all a great day out and around £40+ a ticket for a whole day entertainment with three polo matches seems like a fair price.
The website has all the details on how to get there and what’s available. So just google the name and you will get it.
PS: full security check to get in and you can only bring one bottle of water each... No food or drink allowed.Written June 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
