This year after 2 years of no shows I attended again excel London with a trade show.

Our team always enjoys shows at EXCEL since there are usually not long lines at the entrance and there is good infrastructure in the area in London.

Good restaurants and hotels the area. I recommend Sunborn Hotel if you are looking for a higher class 4* hotel near the venue.

The Ideal Home Show Christmas was good, but as we were in covid there were no covid passport checks or negative test checks seeing as the new Covid variant was around and with over 50,000 visitors who shopped til' they dropped I think this dampened the event.

Also for a big event like this there was no security bag checks……. A little surprised?

The show was very diverse as the was theatre talks on how to create the ultimate Christmas, festive tipples, stalls with xmas presents and stalls with just gifts - there truly was something for everyone at the Ideal Home Show Christmas 2021.

Having visited the area for dinner we thought we’d take a scenic route back to the train station. Some of the artwork was not to our taste, but I’m sure some people must appreciate it! The atmosphere was wonderful, especially coming from a small town where everybody is at home by 6pm!

I have been here for exhibitions before but years ago. The exhibition this time was about Shackleton's I'll fated expedition to the Antarctic. The story is amazing and the photos are outstanding and beautiful. I can recommend this exhibition to anyone.

The BDC is a good venue located in Islington so good train and tube access if coming from outside London

Not huge but big enough so creates a more intimate feel and varied levels in the hall which breaks up the space nicely

Jacks cafe and nearby seating is an excellent anchor point to meet people, especially when your legs are weary

Only downside? The cloakroom check in is awful. They have digitised a process that I expect used to take seconds and using Chexology (?) software made it slow with massive queues. Really slow. Phone number, picture, card payment, and then there are those who insist on a receipt for a pound so email needed for that. As I was at a technology conference this stuck out for me as a classic poor example

    Good venue 👍

Had my first visit to this conference venue, its location is great and you are surrounded by history, history and more history... but also tourists so if you look like you might know anything about London be prepared to act as a guide 🤔
Generally I couldn't fault the location, facilities and especially the people, but just one thing to consider when going there... plan toilet visits because when 750 delegates have a break the toilets are gender neutral and some of us take longer!

We had booked lunch for 12.30 as a treat whilst attending The Ideal Home Exhibition. We arrived at 12 noon just so that we were sure where we were going. It wasn't easy to find. The restaurant with probably over 100 tables was completely empty and the young lady who greeted us offered us to eat immediately. We said "OK" but were amazed when she showed us to the meanest table in the room, tucked behind a pillar. When I asked for us to be seated elsewhere, she was unhelpful to the point of being antagonistic stating that all the tables were booked! Strange as when we left 40 minutes later ( having been grudgingly seated elsewhere) only a handful of tables were occupied. The meal was pleasant but not outstanding and the service from her other colleagues was charming. But where was the parmisan in the crushed parmisan potatoes and where was the orange in the chocolate orange? What a shame that the "meeter and greeter" created such a poor first impression!

    Ok good things first
It’s a really fantastic building, appeared really well organised - no lines to get in, easy to get drinks/food
My negative points were that it was hard to see the stage and I can’t believe I’m saying this but I didn’t think the music was loud enough
I really liked the timing of the event I went to - got there are 4pm - place was already busy and left around 10pm - which made it easy to get out of the place

It’s the perfect antidote to the sheer overwhelming vastness of nearby Frieze, a small compact fair of no more than about twenty galleries in a uniquely gungy but atmospheric space in the bowels of the University of Westminster building in the Marylebone Road. Each year a single institution is invited to exhibit prints in the balcony space. This year the Glasgow Print Collective. There’s coffee, beer, salads and cakes at a space to the rear of the main exhibition space. And unlike Frieze which has a staggeringly large admission price of around £40 including online charges this exhibition is free.

Having such a knowledgeable and entertaining guide, as Ian Fagelson, brought to life the events and people, including Shakespeare, who had been involved with this beautiful and historic building,

Ian offers other tours and having been on two of them, I would highly recommend him as a guide - all the sites are so interesting

Like the other reviewer of Kachette, I have walked past this building hundreds of times and wondered what was inside. I managed to score tickets last weekend to an exclusive launch party put on by Adidas and Sneakersnstuff. The venue is amazing, exposed brick walls, great sound system and friendly staff. Got talking to one of the bar staff and they mentioned that the venue also hosts birthday parties and weddings!

I was here with my boss for an official meeting with one of our clients. The service by the waiters and attendants was excellent. The grass was lush-green and the easy-chairs added to the charm. However there was no shade for protection from the bright sunlight.

High School students participated in Theatre workshops during the daytime, here. The space upstairs near the bar was perfect for our purpose. The space was big enough, with lovely windows, a hardwood floor, and special lighting.

Attended a work conference. Had breakfast pastries, coffee and lunch. All the food was great. Staff attentive and helpful.
Nice large building with several function rooms but didn't get lost!
    Great old building with character.
