Glorious place to vist. The documents and books in the Treasures Room are breathtaking. Eating: cafe by the front door is coffee and croissants; the cafe at the back of the ground floor is coffee, soft drinks, cake, soup and quick sandwiches, but be warned there are NO SPOONS for the soup! I had to go upstairs to the restaurant to get a spoon! Apparently this is an eco-decision. They provide small bamboo teaspoons only and they don't work with soup! So: the restaurant is on the first floor and it's self serve and is coffee, cake, sandwiches and meals. Lots of tables and lots of light from the big windows.

Attended for the MCM Comic Con.

We arrived by train, which is so much easier than driving, and was directed by staff to the entry. Bit of a snaffle picking up tickets, bit this was our first, so that's fine.

We've been to conventions in Australia, and this one huffs all over them. The staff were organised and knew what they were doing, there was tonnes of space, and lots to do. The maps could be printed with more colours to separate which stages are which but that's our only complaint. The place was clean, there were lots of food options, and everyone seemed happy to be there.

I did not go in personally as I was only scheduled to go to London in 2 weeks. My queries were addressed via email by Genna Naccache. She was excellent. Very professional and gave sound advice. Thank you Genna, much appreciated

Southbank Centre is a complex of artistic venues located on the Southbank.

You can find here the following: Royal Festival Hall, Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, National Poetry Library, and Southbank Centre Archive Studio.

The outdoor spaces also provide art while you are eating and drinking at the food market and pop-ups.

Visiting the Christmas show was stressful when pushing someone in a wheelchair. Had to queue for a very long time to use the disabled toilet. Spent ages looking for a working lift. Only when a lovely stall holder informed me the goods lift was being used as the lift broken. No signage to point this out and others complaining about this. Great food selections but as always seating was limited and the fight for a seat was a nightmare. Once you finish you have to leave straight away as someone else desperately wants to sit and eat their food. The singer was good whilst we were having something to eat.
We didn’t buy anything as the crowds were too much and I lost count of the times my mum in the wheelchair got hit in the head by a handbag or someone’s rucksack. Was such a shame as it could have been a lovely day out. I missed out on parking but when I emailed Olympia to ask about parking I did receive a prompt response so thank you.

The visa application process is rather daunting at the outset. One could imagine that the UK and Russia were at loggerheads However, that been said, the staff at the Tourist Office did what was asked, efficiently and politely and I now have my visa. I still can't go but will get there one day, after all ,I've only been waiting 40 years.

Great venue 10-minute walk from Angel Tube station. We were there as guests for the London Art Fair. A huge space with so many artists and galleries displaying. Well worth a visit.

Brilliant. Love the space, was well thought out to go with the light and sound. Each room had a unique work of art where the light and space was very different from the other spaces.

You can find this lovely building in South Kensington, an area which was nicknamed Albertopolis after the beloved husband of Queen Victoria. It is situated near the Albert Hall and faces the Kensington Park. It was treat to visit this unique society’s headquarters. So many expeditions were planned, funded and given royal patronage here. This is the place which led to so many discoveries. The exhibits, stories and ambience here are truly amazing and inspiring. The tales of those adventurous people who led their teams into the arctic, jungles, seas, volcanoes, deserts and mountains would definitely enthral you too. Researchers like David Livingstone, Ernest Shackleton, Humphrey Gilbert, Sir Francis Drake and Captain Cook were all funded by this society’s help. You can also see a private wedding or two taking place here.

It’s always a positive for an area or city when there is a good visitor center close to major transport links. This is useful and with helpful staff!

This was the first stop of the day on my visit to Greenwich. The visitor centre is free to enter and has some very informative displays on the history of the Greenwich area. It's a great way to get an introduction and idea of what you'll be seeing for the day. Also wondered the surrounding grounds and it was absolutely beautiful.
    Spent about 45 mins here.

I first learned of this library and exhibitions when starting a new job and seeing posters in a nearby train station. Lock down being on-and-off and my work hours having to be quite fluid, it has taken me around a year to actually make the short walk here. I managed to secure a slot in the middle of the day for the 'Death Marches - Evidence and Memory' exhibition. I am so glad I managed to work my day around this event. The exhibition was small but still informative. Funds are still neded to help with ongoing research into srories that should never have been (or ever should be) forgotten. There is still a lot we don't know about these people, their lives and/or deaths, but the work continues. A wonderful gem of a place overlooking Russell Square. Working over at the nearby hospital, I am conscious of the precautions in place with respect to invection control, and the staff here cannot be faulted! Displays and the visiting public very well set out, no real possibility of tripping over each other here. I will certainly be back - maybe for longer once Corronavirus restrictions are no longer deemed nescessary.

The London Library is a must-visit for literature enthusiasts. The bad news is that it's a private lending library, and you can't just walk in off the street. The good news is that they offer free tours one evening per month, and you can book free tickets through Eventbrite. These tours are an amazing opportunity to learn about the history and architecture of the building from an experienced guide, and see some of the treasures from the collection up close.

We visited this museum as we had seen it listed as a place worth visiting and it did not disappoint. Such an interesting place with so much history explained and displayed. Would definitely recommend a visit. We'll be back to visit next time we're in London.

There’s much more to Burlington House than the Royal Academy of Arts because it is home to a number of other learned societies, including the Royal Astronomical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Linnaean Society. The Geological Society is the only one accessed from Piccadilly rather than the courtyard of Burlington House itself. Founded by 13 members including Humphrey Davy in 1807 in the Freemasons Tavern in Great Queen Street, it moved to Burlington House in 1874. It has a magnificent library spread over two floors with over 300,000 volumes. During London Open House 2023 various first floor rooms including a Council Chamber and a modern ground floor lecture theatre were also open to the public. Some displays of rocks and fossils were available to interest younger visitors.
