Easy to use and lots of facilities. The original architecture is fascinating if you like history. The station was much bombed in the
    Blitz but it never closed

The journey was exactly as it said, quick on time. Down side is there is a long walk from terminal 2 to the station although terminal 5 was closer. I got a family ticket but you scan that and the gate only allows for 1 person to pass through not the whole group

We took the DLR from Bank to Cutty Sark and back. A good service overall with nice little driverless trains and good views. We could use our one day travel card.

Euro star has gone down hill in the last few years, but still be sure to book the larger seats in standard premier as they are worth the extra price. There is no more welcome drink (bubbly) as they used to serve, and no hot food :( Sadly the food has taken a real hit and is now a tiny portion of cold rabbit food.

The buffet cart in standard class has better food than standard premier which makes no sense. Dont't book business unless your company is paying, its not worth the extra price as the seat is the same as standard premier, but with slightly better food.

Instead, be sure to stock up on M&S food at the station before your journey and enjoy on the train. M&S food will be 100 times better than the food they serve you on the train. Too be honest, they should just ditch the food altogerther or raise the price a bit and serve something hot and half decent, as at the moment they have just got it wrong wrong wrong.
They also rush the service now. Instead of a nice two hour slow service, you get your wine, water, tea/ coffee and all your food in the first 30 minuets of the journey. For the next few hours of the journey, you get nothing. No service, drinks or food. Its so so bad compared to how it used to be, but can still be enjoyed with the above advice.

The Train (both ways) had plenty of seating available and was easy to navigate, at Gatwick Airport and London’s Victoria Station.

It was comfortable and there were accessible charging points throughout. The journey was very direct, with only a few other stops each way.

Although slightly pricey, accepted as I was aware of it’s access into the centre of London, I would happily use this service again, recommending it due to it’s simplicity of use.

Clean and shiny station. Well managed. Helpful staff. Busy all the time because its giving you service to travel many of UK cities. Travelled from here to Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Edinburgh and many more. Most of time service on time but you never know when it’s going down and create chaos. Thanks to the companies providing their services like Avanti, LNER etc for comfortable journey. Many eateries and drinking places around as well as hotels.underground and bus terminal next to lt’s door.

Euston to Edinburgh on a Sunday night. Family with a 12 y/o. The Cally Sleeper is well marketed as a comfortable, indulgent way to travel. In other words: Arrive refreshed and well-rested after a peaceful night’s sleep (if you’ve booked a cabin). Eat and drink in the guest lounge and enjoy the adventure of it all.

I’ll be honest, neither adult slept a wink. The young one did. The sound and thumping rattles of the train as it goes over the track and points are continuous and so loud and bouncy I think the vast majority of adults would not sleep either. I took my own earplugs thinking that it would block the sound, and thought there would be a gentle rocking as I lay, plus the occasional sound but the journey was loud and vibrations continuous. I had imagined it would have been something like the quiet, smooth swaying progress of, say, the Eurostar or even the LNER fast train but it absolutely was not. There is no dampening and the rolling stock feels old and out of date (in a bad way). Like they’ve just updated the interior of an old train.

Ok so that’s my honest (and disappointed) assessment of the sleeping part. What about the other bits?

All in all, the customer service received was good. The waiting lounge was ok, but it’s quite bland. However, having a drink before leaving was nice. There aren’t enough seats for everyone so some people ended up sitting on the floor - I hate that as it feels like you’re in an airport that’s suffering from delays. When it was time to board, it was easy enough and the staff were helpful and polite.

TIP: arrive over an hour early before the train boards to be sure to get a seat in the lounge.

There’s lots said in other reviews about the size of the cabins and toilet/shower, so I won’t go into it much, save to say: yes, it’s small, yes the toilet/shower is weird. Personally, I would dispense of a shower (or re-adjust your opinions of the importance of having one for the short time you are on the train). The bunks we had were fine but I certainly think you need to be comfortable climbing a small ladder to get into the top one. At 5ft 11 I *just* fit into the bunk. The duvet and pillows are a bit thin and mattress a little firm. If you do sleep then I salute you!

TIP: Don’t bring a big suitcase or get a bunk if you’re over 6ft!

Lastly, the lounge for food and drink was simply ok, but again the decor was quite bland. You’re getting something above the standard train food, but not by much. Again, don’t think you’ll be getting silver service, champagne white linen cloths - I knew that was the case, so my expectations weren’t dashed - but for the cost, I guess it would have been nice to have had a little more…

So there you go. It was an adventure. We arrived pretty tired in Edinburgh and had a full day of sight-seeing and fun ahead of us. We didn’t dwell on the tiredness, but instead on exploring the amazing city of Edinburgh. We were however, super-grateful for our lovely comfy hotel beds that evening! Take the Cally Sleeper for the adventure, but perhaps not for the shut eye!

I ended up having to take this route to the airport and it was ok. Navigation not very well sign posted and took a bit longer but in fairness it worked. Cheaper than the Heathrow Express (but that’s not hard!).

Perhaps my least favourite Train station in London.
Even getting there from the Tube feels unsafe.
Considering how busy it is & the well healed people that must use it, it's pretty shabby.
    Even Peterborough Station is nicer!

Thought the tube train service was good but the train carriages were very tired, the buses were plentiful but regrettably the customer service shown by the drivers was poor. It was almost as if they hated to give any advice on destinations.

I paid for a first class ticket and very much doubt I will again. I cannot see what made it first class. Seats the same as normal seats and no doors to section off first class from other seats. No refreshments or drinks offered. Complete and utter con. Shall be seeking some sort of refund!

I just got back from making a return journey from Sheffield to London St Pancras on EMR. Friends and family have recently travelled this route and complained to me about how dirty and worn out the carriages are. Having experienced it first hand I can only agree with them! After a couple of hours sitting in a grubby seat with worn out springs and compressed foam I feel like I've been beaten up!
EMR are currently running an advertising campaign with a cute stuffed toy mascot character in an attempt to convince the travelling public that travelling on their trains is 'fun' and 'relaxing'. The train was full with no spare seats today so it must be working but the reality is very different to the adverts.

Awful company. Poor quality experience, frequent train problems and they rarely honour their refund obligations. Company directors appear to be unconcerned by incredibly poor customer feedback.
    Avoid if you can.
