Fantastic gun experience! Covered the history of gin, how it’s made and how it’s flavoured. With an expert Ginstructor we saw, felt and tasted all the different botanicals then constructed our own bespoke gin, a bottle of which we took home. All of this, accompanied by a very generous selection of cocktails, made for a brilliant afternoon.
Thanks so much to Jess and the rest of the team at Portobello Gin

We had a nice intimate tasting session hosted by the excellent Welston. Learned a lot and really enjoyed the whole experience making for a great Friday evening. Even discovered a new single malt whisky from my home town made by the legendary Crabbies. Would highly recommend.

Tour & tasting was great, Phil & Marcus were super friendly and knowledgeable. The hands-on time with the botanicals was really interesting (and fun). Recommended!

We all had a really great evening, it was a fun mix of interesting history and anecdotes with the two hosts passion, humour and easy relaxed style a blessing. We all loved the expresso martinis, which we all think we are now masters of making 🥳 and the wonderfully generous goodie bags got rave reviews when shown off to friends later. I’ve been to an evening at Sipsmiths before so knew it would be good, my husband and friends were so impressed we’re considering our new understanding of Lavazza may need to be supported with a nerdy visit to its roots in Italy. Thank you D, A, N & P 🎉

I invited my great friends and wife to visit Bimber. I had been there before many years ago as a Father’s Day present with my sons and had a great time.
Bimber has its roots in Poland and is owned and run by a band of Poles. Being married to a Polish woman and mates who are Poles this was such an experience in West London.
Luke guides you through the technical aspects of making whisky. This is very interesting and shows the care put into the liquid we are about to try.
We were given a gin and tonic on arrival. No discussion- it just arrived. The gin is produced by Bimber for those who might come to a whisky distillery and not like whisky!!
After the education comes the tasting. Luke guides you through how to drink and taste and gives you a few thoughts about each of the six drams.
With his support and a number extra samples you work through the tasting. Any questions or thoughts Luke responds to with a cutting charm. Don’t mention Irish or large producers of whisky he will use Polish words that I don’t use in front of my mother in law!! My friends and wife had a wonderful time; so did I.
It’s good value for the cost.

You not only get to learn how to do your own gin but you also learn about the gin history and have some great cocktails and really tasty food along the way. On top of it, you get to learn about how to build your own business. It was an amazing experience! Highly recommend it!

We enjoy a wee dram, and have done several distillery tours in the past, which we have enjoyed. I was looking for a Christmas present for my husband and looked at distilleries which do blending experiences, but they weren't accessible by public transport, which makes it difficult when the alcohol means you can't drive! Then I found the London Bridge Distillery School. In the heart of London, it's easy to get to by Tube, which meant we were both able to participate in the experience safely.

Our host and teacher, James, was friendly, incredibly knowledgable and made the evening really fun. We had an absolutely fantastic time and came away with two very different blends.

Nice to have one of the locations of the Bermondsey Beer Mile to focus on cider as well - even as a liker of beer it's nice to have something a bit different. Big fan of Hawkes and would definitely visit on its own as well as part of the Beer Mile.

Huge range of whiskies (5 stars) Salesman was a big turn off though (1 star!). One of the first things he said was that he only drinks single cask whiskies which I felt was both ignorant and rather pretentious (symptomatic of the bs that has infected the industry).
Still a great shop and open later than royal mile whiskies which is a bonus for an after-work trip!

Day in London to see ABBA Voyage that evening. We got the Tube to Stratford Station to find somewhere to eat before the concert. We tried The Orange Tree first as it had great reviews and was near the station but they had a private party booking so no evening food sadly. The waiter was very helpful and recommended The Jim and Tonic further a fifteen minute walk up the street so we did!

Got there about 3;45pm to find they started taking orders for food at 4 so got a drink and a table to wait. They were very busy but the food was very tasty and we got very prompt and friendly service. Great tiramisu which is always a good marker for any restaurant.

It was only when we left that we realised why the restaurant was so full midweek- it is less than 5 minutes walk across the main road from the ABBA Voyage arena, which is also next on the Elizabeth Line station, so very easy and quick to get back into London.

Would thoroughly recommend the Jim and Tonic, but be careful it does get booked out quickly and has a loud, party atmosphere on ABBA Voyage nights!

I am not usually a brandy drinker but I think I am now as the cocktails were fabulous. This place has such a good vibe and the staff are a delight.

Well a little reminder of Haight-Ashbury I thought outside. E17 industrial chic vibe inside. Could be a nice way to spend an afternoon. Here, and the 3 breweries nearby. Not enough on its own as a destination I think.
