I wanted to try a traditional Tea while in London for the first time. Based on the photos, location and reviews I felt this to be a great option. I arrived a bit earlier than my reservation and was promptly greeted and checked in. After sitting me at my table the staff was gracious to explain the process, choices and give their recommendations. The decor was very traditional, seating was not the most comfortable but that was expected for the type of furniture. The Champagne was to my liking, dry (could of been a bit cooler).
My sandwiches were fresh and somewhat unique in combination of ingredients. I enjoyed 4 of the 5 greatly. The scones and clotted cream were the highlight of the experience. My Tea selection was to my liking but was offered to try others if I chose to. The pastries were little works of art and the perfect ending to the wonderful time. Since I wasn't able to eat all, they boxed up some of the pastries to take with me. My only con was that the neighboring party to my table had a toddler with them. Even though the child was well behaved and the parents did a wonderful job occupying her, it was still as distraction. Difficult to enjoy fully when a baby is just being a baby. That would be the only thing I would change is not being in the same room as a baby.
Highly recommend if you are in the Kensington area and what a very traditional Tea with excellent service.
