I had some time to kill one Friday afternoon early in February and decided to explore the revamped Battersea Power Station. I reached the place easily enough by the Tube and then I simply followed my nose once entering this vast, iconic building. My main impression was one of a large shopping centre set within the walls of this impressive building. I admit that I didn't try to explore every little nook and cranny but, eventually I did get a bit bored with all the shops.

After a while I stepped out on the river side to take some photos and see what was happening on the Thames. Here I discovered a place for boarding the Uber boats which were ploughing up and down the river at regular intervals. Noting the times when they would be going downstream I went back into the main building to find something to eat. I found myself going to a food court which had quite a lot of interesting offerings.

My other lasting impression was the relatively good, clean quality of the restrooms. And they are free of charge.

Very impressive, huge central court on the ground floor, with a beautiful modern sculpture of an air ship in a water fountain. Several restaurants and food stands surround the central area, including Costa coffee. While the service there was fine and the hot chocolate was delicious, the one restroom available for customers, and maybe staff?? was absolutely filthy. The location of the Galleria is outstanding, very close to the enormous London Bridge station, several famous landmarks and is at this time surrounded by Gillie and Marc animal sculptures.

Pretty cool shopping outlet with an amazing view to St Paul Cathedral. Probably due to Covid, many shops are empty which is a bit sad. For those shops still open, they are good variety

Visited in July & December 2023 As part of days out to London. I accessed the yard from Kings Cross Station to Granary Square, Coal Drops Yard, Bagley Rooftop Walk, & Gasholder Park along the Regents Canal. A nice place to visit even if you don't go to any of the food outlets or shops.

After an expensive morning watching my wife spending all our money, we (wife+2kids) saw a chance to have a kind of impromptu picnic at a small grassy square called Duke of York, at the end of King's Road. It just so happened to also have an open-air food market going on. So we milled around for while, each choosing a favoured nosh (all excellent value) and the sat under the portico of the adjacent Saatchi gallery, dining in beautiful warm sunshine. There was a carnival-like atmosphere and we all had a lovely. I highly recommend it.

What has happened to this "shop"? I found it difficult to purchase anything. Many items do not have a price tag/price displayed on their display unit. Some prices are shown about 1/2 metre above floor level - difficult to read. Very few staff about to query prices with. Haberdashery is being run down, 3 staff rearranging what is left of stock and avoiding eye contact. Only unmanouvarable large wheeled baskets available. Difficult to find pay points.....Difficult to use JL "card" as Internet terrible in store. I could go on but just thinking about the "experience " is very wearing

I live locally, and I love this market. Particularly in the evening it’s so lively, with lots of great food and drink options, and a couple of places with really great weekday offers. While Tooting market next door is great, this is the better one in my opinion!

With many high streets seemingly in a downward spiral of closing shops and disappearing bank branches, Canada Place and the adjoining Cabot Place are now an attractive alternative for shopping and banking. Yes, some of the shops are upmarket, but there are also 'day-to-day' shops such as Boots, Robert Dyas and Waitrose (Waterstones bookstore is in Cabot Place). If you need a break from shopping there are a number of cafes.
Public transport options for getting there include the Jubilee Line, the Elizabeth Line, and (in Cabot Place) the DLR.
It is probably best to avoid going at lunchtime as I would imagine it gets busy with office workers on their lunch break. Also, find a map of the shopping mall online before you visit, so that you can easily find your way around.

Warning !! Pick pockets are active in Zara shop at Cardinal Place. Be careful when you go in busy lunch hour between 1 to 2 pm. I was pick pocketed today at this Zara . I felt a gentle bump on my crossbody handbag outside my coat. I should have checked my wallet inside my hanfbag at that moment . The pick pocket is Caucasian, short , chubby , dirty blonde hair , age 35 to 45 . She was looking at pant on sale next to me.

Please always put a hand on your handbag when you shop at this busy Zara. Or wear your handbag inside your coat.

Pick Pocket team will also distract the attention by making a big fuss about cannot find her handbag in the baby Pram/trolley. So everyone in the shop will be looking at what’s going on with this lady and her baby pram. That’s when the pick pocket strike !

Hope this help to prevent future crime .

I was blown away by Alfies Antique Market on Church Street. Its full of impressive art deco lamps, a lot of them imported from Paris! Across from Alfies I slso found some really good vintage furniture shops specialising in mid-century furniture.

It was so beautiful and sunny and cold this morning, we walked from our hotel and found a whole street of wonderful cafés, restaurants and open air seating. We (wife, me +2children) decided to have 2nd breakfast at this jolly place (the skating yesterday must have given us bigger appetites). Piping hot coffee, hot chocolate for the children and some gorgeous vienoisserie, it's was all perfect. On top of that, the place was fizzing with atmosphere & lots of people like us, eagerly taking in a beautiful moment. A fantastic start to the day.
