What travelers are saying
- LakeshollyLeyburn, UK248 contributionsAs I was born in Hull and left around 60 years ago I can remember what the High Street used to look like and it has changed almost beyond recognition, I recall visiting the original Transport Museum many times prior to this lovely place being opened, I only wish time would have allowed a longer visit but if we return again this will be top of our list.Written October 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JCBShipleyShipley, UK107 contributionsWe visited on a Saturday afternoon with a couple of hours to spare, after booking a 30 minute time slot online. The Deep is a bit tricky to get to - we followed the brown signs rather than the sat nav which sent us in another direction. The admission is not cheap but good value when you can revisit more than once within the next 12 months. Being unwilling to wait for the lift, we took the several flights of stairs to the top floor where the tour starts with a series of descending walkways. It was interesting to find out when the world was created and animal life developed. At each information point, the overhead commentary was clear but some of the large, hanging information boards needed improved lighting to be read clearly. Whilst the main attractions are the penguins and large fish tank, there are many smaller fascinating exhibits well worth seeing with good information displays. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was the bland sandwiches in the cafe which for £3.50 had a thin filling between 2 slices of bread. Appreciating you are a non-profit organisation, I'm sure you could improve them.Written September 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveller162014Leeds, UK959 contributionsTom and I drove across the bridge twice, paying a hefty £3 return, but you only live once. This is definitely one of my favourite bridges. I'd say the Clifton Suspension Bridge tops it, but it is a close call. The views are just breathtaking. I think we will make the 3 hour round trip again to cross this bridge again.Written July 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SparrowgrasshoneyWarwick, UK49 contributionsNot to be missed! A stunning minster with so much to see, do, learn, find. Very helpful team of volunteers willing to share their expert knowledge and insight.
A real gem for all ages (plenty to keep children occupied) as well as those wanting to admire the architecture, spend time reflecting, finding the mice (!), or viewing temporary art exhibitions.
Possibly the best loos in Hull. And a brilliant new cafe (Trinity Room) to end a very lovely few hours.Written September 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We walked around the marina and passed the many shops and bars which were busy with people and had a nice atmosphere.Written September 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The lady who welcomed us was very friendly. Will certainly be back to visit again when I have more time, especially since the museum is free to enter.Written August 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Terry EYork, UK329 contributionsOn a day visit to Hull, we popped in to the gallery and coffee shop. It is beautifully laid out with friendly volunteers and staff. Some lovely art available to buy. We were very impressed. Wish Yorks Gallery was as good!Written September 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan PWirral, UK3 contributionsFabulous part of the Hull museum Quarter. We got the train from our holiday home in brough and walked up. What a great day out. Children from 14+ and adults spent a few hours overall. Really good day out.Written August 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil DUnited Kingdom4 contributionsHaving last utilised the Pride of Hull for a trip to Amsterdam on the past, I was aware of the facilities that this magnificent vessel boasted. This trip didn’t disappoint.
Starting with the frankly superb ‘Livin It Large’ that were mesmerising revellers on deck 8 with some phenomenal cover versions of music from the hit parade - though if Andy Martin would perform a comeback tour I would highly recommend for the music aficionados. The entertainment was truly world class.
The opportunity to lump on red in the casino was too great and I took full advantage.
The Irish bar on deck 9 was home to the more discernible drinker and here was where the political debates of the day took place. Hey Bruce, think you’re right about that Russell Brand character!
The restaurant and brasserie are home to Michelin starred artists and what these guys can do with a microwave is unbelievable.
The crossing was fantastic and all in all I would very much recommend to the businessman of the north, the family explorers and the lonely depressed truck driver alike. 4/5Written September 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately Hull is a big dump and so this place stands out even more as the best part of the town. - Eviee BBarnsley, UK94 contributionsWe stumbled across this and even through we're two child-free adults, we couldn't resist popping in. It's a nice cheap activity if you're in Hull. We had a lot of fun playing with the interactive sand tray and enjoyed the VR experience too. Yes some things are broken (probably from unruly visitors) but there's still lots of things to see and do. We were really glad we came in - the gent behind the desk was lovely too!Written December 6, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
