Trip to the Deep before Scouting For Girls concert at the City Hall. Although a Saturday and quite busy, managed to get up close to all of the displays and interactive stations. Took the stairs instead of the scenic lift at the end - and was well worth it to get several beautiful views of the Loggerhead Turtle, Senza….Highlight of the visit 💚 Really helpful guide who told us loads of interesting info and was really knowledgeable.

A great mid week trip to Amsterdam. The check in process as a foot passenger at Hull was efficient.
The Pride of Hull was clean and warm.
The buffet restaurant had a very good selection of dishes which were all hot and I went up a few times to try it all.
There were 3 different live music acts on the main stage and a solo artist on the top deck so the entertainment was good.
Price of drinks at the bar was reasonable too.

This is not a fun visit nor should it be because laid out for you are the horrors of slavery based on race. William Wilberforce fought for many years first to end the slave trade, then to abolish slavery throughout the British Empire. His house miraculously survived the blitz and was fully restored after WW2. Definitely a must visit, however harrowing you find it. Lovely, peaceful small garden hosting several mulberry trees.

    It’s free! It’s fantastic!
A haven away from the shopping streets and the hustle, bustle and inclement weather.
The works of art - classic and contemporary are inspirational and with some local touches too - with the original artwork for Beautiful South’s Quench album on display (Mr Great Heart by Peter Howson), although they ended up paying up some tens of thousands for not acquiring permission to use it.
A lovely cafe at the rear and many places to sit and contemplate throughout. Enjoy!

From outside this museum is quite unprepossessing and looks fairly small. But venture inside! Like the Tardis, it’s much bigger on the inside and for anyone interested in history and the local area it’s absolutely fascinating! This well planned out museum tells the story of the development of the area from prehistory through the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, Roman, Saxon, Viking and medieval periods all through archaeological finds and reconstructions. Meet the life size woolly mammoth, stroll through an Iron Age settlement, visit a Roman bath house and see the wonderful mosaics uncovered locally. The museum is good for children with lots of information pitched at the right level for little time travellers but it’s also a fascinating journey through the past for adults. Don’t be deceived by the fact that it looks small outside - allow plenty of time to get the most from your visit. One of the most user friendly, interesting and entertaining museums I’ve ever visited and it’s free to visit.
