Today I had a massage with Mon… it was amazing, best massage I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back next month. Would highly recommend.

Well..what can l say!! Joining is one of the best things l’ve done! I looked at coming here a couple of years ago and l didn’t do anything then. I got injured and was out the gym for a very long time! Swimming wasn’t enough so l bit the bullet and did the 30 day trial...and have never looked back!! This place is awesome!! The coaches and members are so friendly and they make hard training fun. Coaches are awesome knowledgeable and so supportive and the social side is such a bonus! The change in me since joining both physically and mentally is amazing and my journey is still continuing. If you have any doubts about trying this place out....DON’T! Just go in and try it....it’s a different gym experience but you’ll love it.

This sports centre is good value for money. It's not high tech state of the art but provides basic facilities at good rates. Easy on line booking and membership for many activities including Badminton, table Tennis, Gym and much more. See website for details of opening times, prices and other facilities. Has free parking in Taswell Road.

i have recently come back to the Pyramids as I can't swim as much as I'd like to for a while, and want to have the benefits of a spa to help my muscles relax. The sauna has been far too hot to use for more than a very short time, and many others who I met there feel the same, apart from one young man. Last Friday someone poured water into the thermostat in the steam room, which made it excessively hot. I had to leave until this died down and a woman from the Aqua-fit class felt very faint and had to be helped out. I have told staff at Reception about the sauna several times but it seems to be hotter than ever, which is dangerous.
On the plus side, the women's changing rooms behind the health suite are very clean, and the showers are good.
I have been twice with my husband and once by myself recently.

I visited Riva 6 for an aromatherapy massage (neck, shoulders and back) and really liked the techniques used. Katie was professional and very thorough. The salon is asthetically attractive and the treatment room reminded me of a boutique hotel. Soothing music and towels provided for one's dignity and comfort. The only disappointment was the loud chatter and giggling coming from the reception area whilst someone was having a manicure (not very relaxing), but i'm sure this can be resolved.

Room 702, lovely spacious room with huge TV, tea & coffee machine. My wife and I were very happy when we walked in. We were attending a large party that was also being held in the hotel so we dropped our bags and hightailed it downstairs for the fun.

We came back up just after midnight and noticed a droning noise that made me think that our room was next to a plant room, oh dear. The room was quite cold so I switched on the aircon, this was really loud as it attempted to get the room to a reasonable temperature. Switching off the light, my wife noticed another door which appeared to be ever so slightly ajar, on inspection, I realised it was an adjourning door to the room next door and had someone attempted to come through from their side they could have done so unhindered. I duly locked it.

During the night my wife switched off the aircon as it was simply too loud but the room was still a little chilly, with that noise gone we still had to complete with the ‘plant room’ sound.

Long story short, we got up at 0630 having barely slept a wink. Huge shame because the room itself was beautiful but rested and refreshed we were not.

Was not into Pilates (or too much physical exercise!) until recommended by my physio for help with back pain and core strengthening. So went along with some trepidation but the instructors are all fabulous, combining a good sense of humour with an ironwill determination to make you improve and help you.
Don't hesitate and give them a go!

Always a warm friendly face to meet you at the check in desk. Plus the offer of a warm or cold drink Yes even a beer if it takes your fancy. The Hairdressers at Crew are some of the very best in the UK.

Attended a Masonic Lodge Ladies Night Dinner Dance Saturday 7th May. The venue could've been brilliant with a balcony overlooking the running track and outside seating area. The Tables were decorated beautifully. The bar couldn't cope with the guests as they arrived at 5.30pm, which set the tone fort things to come. The meal was rather disappointing. The soup first course was fine although not very warm, but the main course was awful. Overcooked vegetables and the whole meal was cold. A number of people sent theirs back for warming, not sure if this made any real improvement. The cheesecake dessert was nothing better than a cheap line frozen cheesecake from Iceland. The guests paid for 1/2 bottle of wine per person, but this took some persuasion as initially there were two bottles of red per table which did increase to two further bottles of white. The host had to ask the bar to provide the fifth bottle, which they eventually did.

The staff were pleasant and helpful but not properly trained nor enough of them.

A very disappointing experience and certainly not somewhere I would recommend for a black tie dinner dance. Many of the guests had been looking forward to the evening since 2020 and hoping for a special occasion. Sadly the Mountbatten Centre didn't deliver.

I've had good massages and I've had predictable massages. I've even had some bad ones. This, was totally different. I was stretched, and kneaded, and taught to relax. A very difficult thing for me. I really should have asked for another half hour. The end, I was given a couple of stretches to make sure I do, to help me keep limber. Very satisfying !
