Great place history comes alive. Like stepping back in time we loved it boys love old trams and buses and the family farm and looking round the colliery wish we could of gone down the mine. Is the mine to dangerous to open? Wasn't many staff around don't know if this is because this was the time of year visiting love the idea you pay once and can revisit as many times within the year

Took a group of 17 adults to visit the museum. They were extremely impressed.
I pre booked but despite this it took some time to sort out guides ect. Once sorted the two guides were excellent and gave us a good introduction to the museum..
It has a diverse and fascinating array of artefacts and the building itself is wonderful.
    Nice shop and good cafe.
    Can recommend a visit

Interesting to see all the different trains - there are lots of activity stations for children. There are also puzzle trail books at the entrance

We were sad that we were unable to board and tour this ship, it looks very neglected which is a shame because thetest of the museum is really interesting.

Visited as part of a team building day with work.

Excellent presentation from the staff followed by a visit to the exceptional little museum in the attached manse. Certainly know more about Methodism now than I once did and also a fact which might come in handy for where I currently work.

Would love to go back with family.

As a previous reviewer has stated, I don't think the Lindisfarne Gospels are still housed in the Palace Green Library but that said the building and area of Palace Green is still most definitely well worth checking out.
The Palace Green Library is an awesome looking Grade II Listed building, stone built, very photogenic, makes for some great photographic opportunities and is most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area, its a building that adds to the joy of walking around Palace Green.

Really nice visit with a contrast between the archeological aspect to the DLI which was very moving

Hats off to Dawn Alderson with her cheery and helpful advice and assistance, including options for visiting the Castle
