Great Beach, large enough for everyone to have space, has great restaurants close by (check out WAX) car parks close by, surf hire was very reasonable at £7 for a beginner board for 2 hours.

Its beautiful, and gets some great waves and has a car park a short walk away on the cliff over the beach.
There is a little cafe and ice cream place and toilets in the aquarium to use. Park in St George car park or Manor Road car park and walk down the little hill.

The children loved wondering around all the little paths and putting coins in the ornamental houses and the calming nature of the garden actually rubbed off on them all so that was an unexpected bonus!
We picnic-ed in the beautiful park near by, enjoyed the children's play area with toddler and took advantage of easy to find good loos.
