This is one of the better beaches around Newquay. It is handy for the supermarket and has its own carpark and so on. Sandy and surfy.

Great little zoo with lots of animals to see and informative and engaging keeper talks. Animals all appeared very well cared for with great enrichments in their enclosures. The sloths in the tropical house were adorable and right above your head both times we went. The tapirs were having a wonderful time swimming and the monkeys were swinging and climbing too- lots of active animals so plenty to see even in a small zoo.

There are a couple of places to eat, lots of picnic benches and a great selection of ice creams (including several plant based ones) at the ice cream stall near children’s play area.

For children, there were two play areas- one more suited to children under 10 and then the Tarzan Trail which works for a variety of ages (just be aware the tunnel slide at the end takes a while to walk to the end of if your children go down it and you don’t!).

You also get a free return visit within a month which is lovely- we went back for a couple of hours a few days later when the weather was too windy to be at the beach.

This is another of those sort of sideways beaches that is not very wide but is a long way down to the sea. It is not a bad example of it but the river down the one side gets in the way a bit. There is a bridge. I liked it. I was there close to low tide though.

Wider than it looks at the top, both in terms of beach and stream. Quite nice on the land - toilets and (three form of payment) car parky nearby. There is a pub, but it doesn't look like there is much else to do. Sand and sea it is then. To be fair, a lot of people spend a lot of money to fly to the Canaries to be sand blasted in bright sunlight like I got there in the UK.

Great beach for boarding & surfing. Very busy on the day of our visit with family , strong winds created great conditions for waves for two grandchildren. Life guards did excellent job during tricky sea conditions.
Nearest carpark was full , as our visit followed the broadmasters event we managed to park on the festival field with a short walk to the beach although rather steep uphill on our return. Not sure if this car parking is available any other time.

I did not find this either lusty or glazed, but I really liked it. The resturant / bar set the right tone. The resturants were available. The beach was good. The cove did not keep thhe wind off at all. I liked it that they did hot chocolate in the bar.

Beautiful beach but the village has been spoiled by the replacement of shops and businesses and ordinary houses and bungalows with glass squares. It's the hollowing out effect being discussed about places like Mousehole and Mawgan Porth. It's why the Welsh First Minister imposed a hefty levy on holiday home owners in Wales, to protect local families and services like schools, GP surgeries, dentists, buses, taxis etc from the same thing happening there.

We had a wonderful time at Oasis fun pools with our three year old daughter. We were staying nearby in Mawgan Porth and wanted to find a fun place to take her swimming so we're chuffed that we could book here!

My only reasons for deducting one star were the lingering and off-putting poopish smell throughout the whole building (it seemed to be stronger when near drains) and that it was quite cold inside the building itself. Every child who entered the changing room after going in the pool was soon screaming and I think it was because it was so cold!

Only the large pool and flumes were open but we still got our moneys worth with a small child who just wants paddle around the shallow end. The pool was very large and nicely laid out with lots of different areas - a bubbly jacuzzi, a little slide, and some fountains and waterfalls. There were lots of places to access and egress the pool, and an enormous shallow area for children, plus a separate little pool, which my daughter was very happy about.

There were lots of empty sunbeds around the side of the pool and also a huge bin of 'freecycled' swimming aids for children to use which is a fantastic idea. The changing area was very clean and spacious, although I was taken aback by the security camera in the public section. It seems thoughtfully designed with places to sit near the lockers, and enclosed hair drying area, and benches outside the changing rooms to put your shoes back on. The showers were really warm which was lovely when the changing room was so cold

After our swim we ate in the restaurant, played in the amusements, and visited the park. We are so pleased that we chose to visit the pool and also got to explore the Hendra park. We will definitely look at staying here in future.

First time going to Newquay, Cornwall: Tolcarne beach was beautiful and a big wave. I swim though, but the sea was cold, freezing and my body was shivering hahaha, it’s been four years since I haven’t swim for a long time and now I can swim.

Crazy football golf was fantastic, we went as a family of 6 the kids range from 5-12 and they loved it (very tired at the end ) plenty of space for those that don’t want to join and would prefer to walk round. Theres somewhere to grab a drink and a sit down which we did half way round and sat and had a picnic too. Great few hours out. Would highly recommend staff very chatty and helpful.
