Kacaba Vineyards Winery Vineland 1.7 mi away
#1 of 12 Food & Drink in Vineland
We were guests of friends in St Catherines for the final weekend of Grape and Wine Festival 2017 and of all the wineries that we visited, Kacaba was our favourite.
The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable regarding their land, the specific sections of the vineyards and how the topography affects each varietal, a great learning experience.

Flat Rock Cellars

God knows there are 100 other wineries you could’ve gone to in the region, but going to Flat Rock and enjoying a tasting with Emily will be worth your while!
The views are SPECTACULAR (you can see all the way to Toronto across the lake), and the porch is the perfect place to have a glass of wine!!! Our favorite wines from this winery were the chardonnays.

From the restaurant, to the tasting room to the layout this is one of the more unique wineries in the area and worth the stop.
We had to pace ourselves in our purchases as we were visiting other wineries.

It is on a hilltop overlooking vineyards, other wineries, and Lake Erie from Vineland to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Approaching the winery from the car park, there is a stunning display of stone sculpture.
This is by far one of the most unique wineries in the twenty valley.

After completing a wine tour in northern NY state, I discovered the wineries around Niagara are far superior in ambiance and offerings such as food.
Sipping on a crisp Sauvignon Blanc on a beautiful summer evening, savouring delicious short ribs, listening to the very cool voice of Mel Monaco, surrounded by lush vineyards and contemporary sculptures.

They are a bit pricier than most other wineries, but well-worth it, especially when you want a nice full-bodied wine to celebrate a special occasion.
Another huge plus: t the winery is located on the still-functioning Vineland agricultural research station, a green and welcoming campus of working research buildings and greenhouses a short distance from Lake Ont...

Tawse is one of the most decorated and distinguished wineries in Canada -- their Chardonnay's are fabulous - if you like steely, Burgundian style.

Pearl-Morissette Estate Winery Jordan Station 1.1 mi away

They use an "old world" technique to making their wine that I found fascinating to hear about as a contrast to what we heard at other wineries.
Before the tasting, Melissa introduced the winery by emphasizing their philosophy---that the primary purpose of the winery is to return to an empirical approach for discovering the unique expression of the Niagara...
