I had the pleasure of having Murray as my guide as I visited the museum in late July. The tour was supposed to last about an hour, but took quite a while longer, as Murray was more than happy to answer all my questions. I can warmly recommend everyone to book the guided tour, especially if you're in a bit of a hurry and haven't gotten the time to browser around for hours, but still want to know all the cool stuff.

We had a guided tour of the central part of the collection, excellently illustrating the blending of the European with the local influences. I discovered a few masterpieces that are not well-known outside NZL. To return and to spend more time there. After the tour we had a dinner, excellent in this environment as well.

A fantastic journey through New Zealand’s maritime history that captivated my attention from the beginning of my tour to the end.

I’m not a sailing or boating enthusiast but the series of well curated exhibits kept me interested all through my time there.

The build up hype we received did not live up to it. The place is great for kids but it has seen better days. We are glad we went but it was a little disappointing.

A great day out just browsing through the shops and soaking in the ambience. Enoyed the quaint cafes and bookshops.

I live in Warkworth but never been here until I’ve needed some unique presents to take overseas with me. Bought a necklace for my sister in law and she loved it, everyone complimented on it. Thanks! Happy to support local.

Perfection on Waiheke! If you are looking for something special, and I mean really special, this is the place for you! You commit to having three courses so you can’t be in a hurry. There is no al la carte menu to order from apart from side dishes to accompany the three courses you order. However the three courses have about four options per course.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. The service was fabulous! The food completely next level. Delicious!
They treated my husband like a king and even managed to get him a candle to blow out on a very windy day!
I highly recommend Tantalus as my new favourite restaurant on Waiheke! You won’t be disappointed.

Auckland is a souvenir shopper's delight (which is me!).
Queen St does have some good gift shops but also a mix of high end boutiques, banks, travel agents etc. You will find excellent souvenir shopping opportunities equally on Albert St that runs parallel, around the Sky Tower at SkyCity area and, in particular, down at the ferry terminal quayside (also great restaurants down there).
All within a walkable distance for a lovely few hours of retail therapy.
Note :- the Sky Tower has one of the best gift shops and you may well be able to access it without buying a viewing ticket? If not, it's still a good place to go.
The possum & merino mix wool products are especially good quality in NZ shops and a fair price.

I went by myself one afternoon, it was definitely an interesting experience, fun for everyone. Like many have said if you're not a fan of dark enclosed spaces or have a certain agility level then you may want to reconsider. I have hip problems and some rooms were a small challenge. I had lots of fun though, highly recommend! :)

A beautiful, frosty walk through the crunchy leaves in the Auckland Domain and then in to see the riot of colour in both glass houses. Fascinating to see all the different flowers, succulents and plants. A gorgeous setting.

An excellent museum in a beautiful location. Great for families and anyone with an interest in military history. Don't miss the North Head Tunnels while you are there.

A great place to visit, guided cave tour. Cave tour has to be booked. Need good walking shoes, clothing will get wet so a change of clothing a good idea.Need to be able to walk and squeeze thru rock areas. Great cafe after exploring , for pizza, scones , sweet treats . Very friendly and great for all ages.

I like it here at Sylvia Park. It's cleanliness and spacious car parks makes it fancier to shop around here. It's also family oriented with it's playground and seating areas for everyone. With my experience, I like going there almost everyday :)

We enjoyed the World Cup match here for Vietnam vs. USA. The venue is clean and the concessions are well organized and quick. If you see a line for a bathroom or concession you can walk another 20 feet and find one that isn't.

The staff are superb here and very approachable. The way they handled the crowds was impressive and we felt very safe while here.

Getting here is easy and they had exclusive free transit running between Britomart and Kingsford stations with the train before and after the match we attended.

One tip for this venue is that if the ticket says obstructed view, they mean it. We bought with the obstructed view in section 321 because it was cheap but we were behind the player benches and our seats were right beside the player tunnel!

We hope to be back one day for a rugby match!
