- xangodangoCambridge, New Zealand36 contributionsnot quite at the level of international trail centres (or rotorua) but not far off. trailhead and trail centre are in 2 different places which is weird but its still great and the trails are awesome.Written November 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matt Boz3 contributionsThis is pure fun, we had it on a day with no crowd and did run after run. Need a good bike as the runs are intense.Written December 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AcinetoAuckland Central, New Zealand20,073 contributionsQuite a beautiful walkway that goes along the water. You can go in and out from multiple locations as it goes from the Half Moon Bay marina to the Panmure Basin. There are a few playgrounds along the walkway. It is suitable for both walking and biking. There are signposts with timings to the different areas. There are also a few information boards around giving the history of the area. It is a nice place for a stroll, taking as much time as you want.Written September 13, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We stopped in for a quick hike because our flight out of Auckland was delayed and we're pleased to get some fresh air in advance of being cooped up in a plane for a long flight.
For those who are airplane buffs, flights landing to the west pass very close.Written January 7, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Easy walk, and the reward at the end was a nice coffee in Matakana, e we totally love it 🥰Written April 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michelle SAuckland Central, New Zealand400 contributionsOMG loved this bike ride. I am not a true cyclist and too scared to ride on the roads but this cycle track is soooo safe!!
This trendy cycleway has recently been completed and is Easy to follow and cycle on!
We started from Point Chevalier and rode to Northwest Shopping Centre for brunch. Enjoyed every minute of it. Try an electric bike it is so much fun. You feel like you are riding on the motorway but safe with trendy barriers and views.
Stop on the SIDE of the Cycleway anytime.
Great family day out! (and its free) Thanks heaps Auckland for making this happen.
I am going to do this again next weekend!!

Many walking tracks, some suitable for mountain bikes. The tracks we took had a lot of tree roots and were quite muddy in sections. Boots or stout sport shoes recommended.
Plenty of birdlife; we heard lots of tuis.
There's an interesting community flax garden at the Merrill Place entrance to the reserve. Many varieties of flax are growing, with signage explaining the traditional Maori use of each type.
We did a loop from one of the Glenfield Road entrances that took about an hour. There were plenty of options for a shorter or longer hike.Written September 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
