This had to be the best tour we went on in the Auckland area. Not only were the wineries and pairings too notch, the views were unreal. To top it off, we had the best tour guide I’ve had the pleasure of embarking with. Glen was incredibly knowledgeable about Waiheke island and kept us entertained throughout the tour. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in the area!

The views were amazing. Hobbiton was amazing. We also visited Rotorua, that could've been a day on its own, with so much to do. The Waitomo Glow worm caves were interesting, though I wish the boat ride would have been a bit longer. Overall it was a fun trip and our driver was great!

I joined my LOTR movie buff bestie for this tour, and though I hadn't seen the movies in 20 years, I still had a great time! Cheeky Kiwi was excellent getting us to and from Hobbiton. Our guide, Cam, is a natural guide with a passion for NZ tourism. We loved learning the NZ and LOTR tidbits he sprinkled throughout the ride down. The day at Hobbiton started with about an hour to browse the cafe/giftshop. Pepper steak meat pie was delicious. The tour of the farm was beautiful. The set has been well preserved. The walking portion was relaxed and well paced. Our on set guide Matteo was happy to take photos throughout the experience for us. There is a new part of the experience currently under construction until December, which I'm sure will only add to the excitement for LOTR fans. The ride home was easy enough. Cam stopped at the best ice cream spot in NZ which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, great day.

Visiting New Zealand's North Island was a dream come true for me, especially with its unique blend of volcanic landscapes and rich Māori culture. To make the most of my trip, I embarked on the Rotorua Day Trip from Auckland with FlexiToursNZ, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience that combined natural wonders and cultural insights.

The day began with the promise of geothermal wonders, and Te Puia did not disappoint. Nestled within the heart of a volcanic valley, this haven boasts the Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, a Kiwi Conservation Centre, and a mesmerizing view of the Te Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. As I wandered through this captivating landscape, I was treated to the sight of skilled artisans crafting intricate wood carvings and weaving flax creations. The chance encounter with a shy Kiwi in the conservation centre was an absolute highlight, offering a glimpse into New Zealand's unique wildlife. To finish off there are the wonderous views of erupting geysers, dramatic landscapes, and mud pools.

The journey continued to Wai-O-Tapu, a geothermal reserve that truly felt like stepping into another world. The well-maintained trails led me through a surreal panorama of sulfur-colored ponds and bubbling mud pools, a testament to the raw power of nature. With two out of the three trails covered, I was able to appreciate the striking beauty of the Taupo Volcanic Zone. The main trail was even wheelchair-accessible trail for a fully immersive experience. The gift shop, with its distinctive offerings, was a delightful end to the trail exploration.

FlexiToursNZ played an integral role in making this adventure seamless and enjoyable. Their attentive service began with a pick-up from my hotel, a convenient option that saved both time and hassle. This additional service cost less than if I would have hired a taxi. The journey to Rotorua was made comfortable in a well-organized tour bus, and once we arrived, our small group was divided for the day's activities. Rebecca, our guide, ensured we had ample time to explore Te Puia and indulge in a satisfying lunch. At Wai-O-Tapu, Ana's local expertise enriched the experience, offering intriguing insights into the region's geological marvels.

As the day came to an end our tour bus took me back to the same drop off point as the morning where Andy, the provided driver, safely transported me back to my hotel, allowing me to relish the memories of an eventful day over a delicious dinner back at the hotel. The convenience and professionalism of FlexiToursNZ truly enhanced my travel experience, and I couldn't have asked for a more well-rounded exploration of New Zealand's North Island.

In conclusion, my Rotorua Day Trip with FlexiToursNZ was an exceptional journey that seamlessly combined geothermal wonders, Māori cultural immersion, and top-notch service. For anyone seeking an authentic and captivating adventure in New Zealand, this day trip is an absolute must. The North Island's geothermal landscapes and FlexiToursNZ's expertly curated experience have left an indelible mark on my travel memories.

Our excellent guides, Kevin and Tony, were so very knowledgable, funny and interesting. We were in a small and very comfortable van. We didn't just drive by places, we made several stops where we were able to get out, walk around and ask questions. Stops included a quaint shopping area where we could buy some authentic New Zealand on-the-go lunch fare, a beautiful reservoir and a black sand beach. The rainforest portion of the tour was spectacular, both in terms of natural beauty and our guide's knowledge of the plant life. Among other things, we learned that the silver fern (the national symbol) is essentially glow in the dark, and was used by Maori for trail markers and messages. The tour ended with another beach stop where we had tea/coffee and biscuits. We really loved this experience!

This was a last minute addition to our NZ trip. Michael, our tour guide, was amazing. He was knowledgeable and humorous. His expertise and interaction with all of us on the tour as well as the employees at the wineries made this a most welcome addition to our trip.

I would 100% recommend this to any of my friends.

Michael gives a really interesting tour of Auckland. You cover a lot of ground and go to some places you wouldn’t normally get to when exploring. It was fun a few days later to eat dinner at the sky tower and realize the ground we covered on this tour!

We all had an absolutely brilliant time and this was down to Grant being the perfect host. He juggled with all of our different requirements throughout the day and kept us all well informed and provided us with loads of interesting local information. I was travelling with teenagers who are notoriously hard to please but even they said how great a time they had!

We had a shaky start trying to gather the group as the ferries were overcrowded and thus we were running behind schedule. At the first winery (Batch), there was no tasting but we had a free glass of wine with our lunch. The other two wineries (Obsidian and Mud Brick) were traditional tastings and we had some time to wander around Mud Brick to enjoy the incredible views! All in all it ended up being a good day but our guide (Karyn) drove very fast and caused some to feel car sick.

This trip was really stellar. The group that went was very nice, and it helped make the solo trip more fun. Our bus driver was incredible, and both attractions were stunning.
