What travelers are saying
- Mmkr948 contributionsDefinitely should take time out of your trip to visit! My mom and I rented a car and drove up from Auckland and were so glad we did. Not only are the gardens, sculptures, paintings and art incredible but as is the staff that work there. The restaurant on site was mouthwateringly delicious as well, great way to spend your dayWritten August 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - g nAuckland Central, New Zealand416 contributionsThe restaurant has a beautiful outlook to the sea, the grounds are expansive which allowed our kids to play. Food and wine was good, although I've experienced better on Waiheke. As a package though it was most enjoyableWritten April 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TravellingCoupleNZAuckland, New Zealand78 contributionsPerfection on Waiheke! If you are looking for something special, and I mean really special, this is the place for you! You commit to having three courses so you can’t be in a hurry. There is no al la carte menu to order from apart from side dishes to accompany the three courses you order. However the three courses have about four options per course.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. The service was fabulous! The food completely next level. Delicious!
They treated my husband like a king and even managed to get him a candle to blow out on a very windy day!
I highly recommend Tantalus as my new favourite restaurant on Waiheke! You won’t be disappointed.Written April 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Angela MEast Sussex, UK47 contributionsAn excellent choice of red and white wines offered for our tasting with lots of information regarding how they were made. Well worth the walk from Onetangi.Written April 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ZetlanderChristchurch, New Zealand15 contributionsVisited today after being turned away from another winery due to them being busy. Even though Westbrook were fully booked, they were very accommodating and made room for us in an outside alcove, even providing blankets for the ladies in our party. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who made us feel very welcome. We all tried a 'wine flight' of three wines of our choosing for $15 along with very tasty pizzas. Catered well for two in our party who required gluten-free meals. Thoroughly enjoyed our wines and food, which were all excellent. We also purchased other glasses and bottles of wine as we enjoyed them so much. Would definitely recommend a visit if in the area and will visit again when next in Auckland.Written April 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Food options were good, food came fresh and fast, and was tasty. Service friendly and efficient. - Alikr2015Auckland Central, New Zealand78 contributionsReally enjoyed this experience. We were a group of four who were able to ask questions and learn a lot. We were fortunate to have the owner with us so it was super interesting to hear about his journey. Really enjoyed having the food with the wine. Only complaint would be that you had to move between the wines maybe quicker than you want to as someone is guiding you through it so it can go to your head as they are not small tastings.Written February 8, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura BVictoria58 contributionsOne of three wineries we visited on the island. The wine was delicious and the lunch was fabulous. - Wing C41 contributionsThis was my first ever wine tasting experience and I was a little bit nervous, but I like wine, so gave it a try and oooooweee I am glad I did! The Shed provided the perfect venue on this rainy day - lovely, cosy and unpretentious atmosphere with good music. The staff were fantastic and did a great job talking about the vineyard and describing the different wines. You can choose to do the usual wine tasting or pay a bit extra and taste their premium wines - it's a no brainer if this is within your budget. Excellent wine and great food. - Michael TSingapore, Singapore2,127 contributionsMy colleagues and I joined a Fullers Winter Wine and Dine Tour and we chose Stonyridge as the winery to visit.
It was essentially a free and easy tour. From the Waiheke Ferry Terminal, we took the Explorer Bus to Stonyridge. It was a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was fairly crowded.
We’d managed to get a sofa seat with views to the valley, which was nice. Food was a lunch platter for sharing.
It was fun watching all the activities around us. There was a small wedding party at that time. Weather was great.
Overall we had a fun time at Stonyridge.Written July 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Kennedy Point may at first appear intimate but its wines pack balanced and delectable flavors.
The wine, the scenery, and the hospitality could capture New Zealand in one swoop.Written October 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unaware at first that it was the very first vineyard on the island.
The cellar door is very inviting, the staff were great, the food was fantastic, and the wine was even better.
Thanks for a great afternoon, we’ll definitely be back for more.Written September 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
