What travelers are saying
- owleseyKaiapoi, New Zealand924 contributionsThis market is held the first Sunday of every month and is very popular. Beautiful to get out of city into the country side. There are so many wonderful crafts here that its hard to decide what to buy. To top it all off there is great food as well. Plus there are local cafes in the area as well. Make a day of it and go to this market.Written December 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jacquitohcAuckland Central, New Zealand766 contributionsIt's been years since we were at Howick Village Market; it was busy, found parking nearby. Great selection of goods & food, greek olives, vacuumed-pack meat-products, luscious giant cookies to sample, Italian Bolognese: already prepared food-to-go, arts & crafts for the home, garden, jewelry; quick dash to shops in Howick Village, next-door to the location, then back to the market for pastries, before returning to the car. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.) Fab day out.Written July 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellemay 🍹🐠🐳Sydney, Australia47,358 contributionsIf visiting Matakana village on the weekend then visiting the farmers village is certainly worth the time to explore. It’s mostly houses food stalls selling local products. Parking can be problematic.Written October 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - spraggbjChristchurch, New Zealand158 contributionsPopped in on the way to a winery and it was packed. The first thing we saw was a group of about thirty hippies singing and chanting anti vaccine messages in a circle. It ended in a massive group hug! All very Waiheke! We only bought some Manuka honey but the food and craft options were abundant and looked lovely.Written December 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susie CAuckland Central, New Zealand8 contributionsWe went down to the markets last Saturday - great music and stalls. These markets have just reopened (old Cigale markets). There is variety with dips, cheeses, veges, fish, coffee and pizza. The markets are also next to the Buono Deli and they've got a lot of Italian items, coffee and menu food. We had the breakfast and it included Italian meats and lovely flavours. Young ones are also catered for, then we shopped around and bought enough for a meal that night. The Italian Deli has the option to buy sliced salami's, meats and cheese. Great live music at the market - and area to sit and chill. Glad to see the markets back!Written October 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BartonbearsCoffs Harbour, Australia1,893 contributionsPamphlets and signs advertised the New Bigger and Better market every Sunday from 10am - 2pm. Well, full marks to the pie shop, jam stall, embroidery stall, live musician and the couple of other stall operators who were there when we turned up at 10.30 am. The many other empty spaces did nothing for us. Perhaps it was just an off week but the weather was perfect and the cafe was open. Had we not had to drive a fair way to get to the alleged markets we would not be so put out. Perhaps a weekly market is too ambitious? Once a month may get more stalls and customers. In any case we will not be returning.Written February 21, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
