The only day it's crazy busy is the day I was there (on a weekend). I'm told most weekdays when the Jakarta folks are NOT on 2-night boat trips, it's quiet and lovely. That said, even with a crush of people, it's really gorgeous and a decent workout to get up the hill. Fairly decent steps but the higher you get, the more challenging some of the stairs are (broken, high steps, etc). But I'd go again.

My son and husband went for a short snorkeling. Nice blue water - but I doubt it this will last - as there are hundreds of boats in Labuan Bajo and they all dump their dirty water to the ocean as there are no rules or regulation (sad) but who is going to care? Indonesia is a 3rd world country. Given in 5 years this place will be another dump like Bali. Totally ruin, visit now while you can. Nothing much to do here but great for snorkeling.

first stop before explore other beautiful places in Komodo National Park territory. Beautiful small island with clear beach. We can climb the hill to get more beautiful scenery. The trail is steep and hard, but challenging. But it worth to climb because the view is stunning

Do it if you can, this is one of the few places you can see Komodo dragons. They are a bit lazy (something to be thankful for, you don't want them to be actively chasing you). If I re-do the experience in the future, I will chose the shortest track. I find the medium track hike to the top is unnecessary. No more komodo sightings on the way, the view from the top is not as good as Padar (or Kelor).

When we went, the currents were fairly strong but if you're a good swimmer AND wear a life jacket, you can float with the current and swim a bit against it and snorkelled for more than an hour, from about a half mile away swimming toward this makassar island. Some people see huge manta rays, we didn't see any, as it's not in season; but still we saw gorgeous coral, a dozen huge sea turtles, and literally thousands of fish. Totally recommended!

We walked the gauntlet of fish sellers and found one with some nice fresh fish. Look for clear eyes and red gills. It took a long time to cook our fish and squid, but it was inexpensive and delicious. The squid was tender and the sauce excellent. They give you rice and vegetables. There is some ticket system that we bypassed and just paid cash to our seller. Cheaper that way and the cooks like it better.

These are one of the recent caves discovered by human kind and was informed was under the water just 100 years back, which was so surprising for us.

Just like other caves, it has some unique feature, such as it was a big room filled with sand and there are unique carvings every where and some stones which are hollow from inside and give an amazing sound when you knock on them

We visited when it was torrential rain so not blue water for swimming in. However, it was a great adventure and the waterfall in full spate was something else! Our guide was lovely too. There are a lot of steps to encounter if you are challenged with fitness or mobility.

One of favorite places to watch sunset also the breathtaking view of Labuan Bajo. The track to climb the hill a little bit steep. It need 10-15 minutes to climb. The view is spectacular, and sunset from here is a must to see

Stayed 4 nights which was far too long. We went to Komodo from here but there is nothing to do in Labuan Bajo. No beaches - need to take day trips everywhere, we didn't do any trips as we had just travelled overland from Maumere. Some ok places to eat and a few roof top bars to watch the sun set. The streets are difficult to navigate and no shops to speak of. I am writing this as I found it difficult to find anything out about Labuan Bajo. Airport 5 minutes over the hill - shuttle should only cost you $5!
