- Mark GCatonsville, MD3,484 contributionsLocated downtown right off Josiah White Park/the historic train station square, the Big Creek Vineyard tasting room is an offshoot of the vineyard located 20 miles away in Kunkletown, Pa. It is a small family vineyard that has a lot of unique/obscure wines
due to the geographic location of the vineyard that doesn't allow many of the traditional grapes to thrive. So they make some unique dry reds and dry whites as well as many sweet wines and some rose. They have an attractive long bar to go with the high ceilings of the historic building and offer tastings, 3/$6 and 5/$10. They have many tables also as well as a wedding venue.Written December 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - psudinoWeehawken, NJ4,490 contributionsThis is a tiny shop and I'm not sure we would have found if if not for the Jim Thorpe scavenger hunt. I'm happy we did though as it was a nice hidden gem treat. The mead was tasty and the people who work here are super nice! I think this a must stop just to chat with the folks who work here about their craft.Written May 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very gracious, generous and accommodating. He shared his entirety property with us and everything exceeded expectations - the wine, the grounds and the hospitality. They even had live music. Just a great casual place to spend an afternoon! Definitely will return.Written August 30, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gordon l2 contributionsThis place is amazing. We went twice during our week of vacation. It was their 10th anniversary and they put on a great event. The variety of wines, beer, cocktails, slushies, etc was by far the best we've ever had! Met the owner and the head of production and they were both great. We could not thank them enough for such good and memorable times while we were there. And just a side note, they support local animal shelters with a portion of proceeds and your pets are welcome to visit with you.Written October 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our server, Brenda, was extremely knowledgeable of the logistics, preparation, and wines of Blue Ridge Winery. We enjoyed experiencing a flight . . . accompanied with the stories behind the vintages.
We HIGHLY recommend a stop at this tasting room, if you don't want to drive the additional 30 minutes to enjoy the winery's estate or have dinner in the underground room.Written August 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a beautiful evening, so we sat outside under the arbors and enjoyed the live music. The charcuterie board and paninis were great, and we shared a bottle of Petite Syrah. It’s a fantastic atmosphere and we’ll be returning soon.Written June 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
