Every morning the in the covered market. Great for spices, vegetables, fruit and herbs.

The people who sell the produce are very nice.

They gave us a handbag to carry our fruits and vegetables.

We laugh and talk with one another.

By the way, there is a fish market as well.

    Worthwhile to see!

6 hectares of glorious rarity are to be found tucked away about an hour's drive from Honfleur.
Arpents du Soleil is Normandy's only vineyard and makes a range of superb red and white wines perched on a hill.
There are guided tours and tasting and the staff and owner are as delightful as the wines. We bought a tasting selection and an additional 6 bottles of one of the whites. These latter are ones which age very well. We tasted the 2014. No wine is sold in supermarkets though much of the production is exported to Japan.
My wife and I were wine writers for 20 years, fifteen of which we lived in France and did not know Normandy was a wine producer. We were always Calvados orientated!!
The vineyard itself is at Grisy and may be contacted on (0033) 02 31 40 71 82

This example of a French church looks very authentic.

It is old, and as expected, a little bit tired in places, which just adds to the ambiance and history of the building.

It is easily found in the centre of the town of Saint Pierre-sur-Dives, adjacent to the market square.

There are some nice cafés and bistros overlooking the church, so after visiting and viewing the interior, we recommend getting refreshments and enjoying the architectural features of the exterior.

Another tip is to maybe combine a visit to this church on market day, for a truly French experience.

We were driving to Falaise and needed to stop for lunch so picked this town as it seemed the largest we would pass en route. Hunting for a restaurant we came across the market square and this amazing medieval market hall. I’m amazed the town doesn’t make more publicity for it. Ok, there’s not a lot going on (unless it’s market day) but it’s an astonishing building and well worth a look inside, and to read the information posters.

USP have an easy to find location with good parking. Friendly and helpful guys. Cash only payment. Minibus ride to the star point.

The Dives is a small quiet river. A few trees to miss and some low bridges. A lovely house right on the river too. Excellent tranquil paddle with few family arguments..
