Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania Ronks
#1 of 46 Museums in Lancaster County
I have been to quite a few transportation museums and most have the bulk of their displays outside, but this one has well preserved train engines and rolling stock inside a large well lighted building.
One of the largest and most comprehensive train museums we've been to.
National Watch and Clock Museum Columbia

One of those specialty museums that shine.
Located in a beautiful newer building, the museum has everything you ever wanted to know about the history of time keeping and the making of clocks and other timepieces from the ancient Egyptians until the current...
Ephrata Cloister Ephrata

It was fascinating to explore the history and fate of this German-American sect, through museum exhibits, recorded music and an excellent guided tour by a local history teacher.
There is such a wealth of information in the museum, the grounds are open to exploration, and you can even have a self-guided tour using your cell-phone (if you're into that sort of thing.)

This Mennonite farm has assembled homes, barns, schools, general store, a blacksmith, a gunsmith and museums to inform us about how progress from 1750 to the present was made in this area.

Wilbur Chocolate Candy Store Lititz

We miss the original factory setting (across the street) with museum items, but the staff has always been pleasant and delivered exceptional service with a smile.
They also have a mini-museum with displays of how their chocolate is made.

I was really impressed and enjoyed this much more then some of the bigger city museums.

Located in two original stone houses built in the 1700's, the museum houses a lot of neat local artifacts, and the Johannes Mueller House is set up in all period furniture and furnishings, just as it might have lo...
One of the best house museum experiences I have ever had, in large measure because my husband and I had a knowledgable, informative and accommodating guide show us around.

Smaller than several other children’s museums that I have been to in the past such as San Antonio, Baltimore or Philadelphia but don’t let its size deter you.
This also is affiliated with other children's museums throughout the Unites States for a discount.;

Unlike some private museums, this is well organized and signed, with easy to read plaques for each display.
As a history major and a Masters in Museum Studies I really enjoy museums but find so often let down by the lack of engagement, collection or worth the money.
