- Nick DysonLondon, UK43 contributionsReally nice monastery in an interesting location but will echo what others have said that there is a charge to enter (20 lei) also the day I went the monastery was advertised to close at 1pm but it closed around 12.30pm so do be careful as there were people arriving after me that didn’t get in. Also very remote so make sure you do it either with a tour or an Uber driver that will wait for the 20/30 mins it takes before taking you back to Bucharest if you’re coming from thereWritten February 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tucageorgiananic2018Curtea de Arges, Romania2 contributionsI've just made with my friends a short photo trip to Snagov (this time - after wildlife!). The lake and forest include two protected areas and we managed to find a guide from Fundatia Snagov which was of great help. To get a guide, should be formed a group of at least 6 visitors, to pay the entrance about 5 lei (1 euro) and some contribution for the guide. We were lucky (found an already formed group - ready to go).
We have seen: 3 snakes, many frogs, 12+ species of birds and one tropical orchid (acclimatized). Seems to exist other 7 around. Waled about 5 km on forests - around the lake. Was ok for a short (3 hours) nicel walk.
We plan to return and go early in the morning to a birdwatching trip - with the same guide.
Note: very interesting the natural local (mini) museum and especially the aquariums and terrariums (over 12 species)Written September 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I don't know if I would make the effort to drive out there again specifically for this. If you are driving by, then it would be wort the visit. Inside, they have kept it much as it was before - so it is a time capsule.Written July 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - georgianat254Bucharest, Romania7 contributionsI simply love to stay & eat at the restaurant from the edge of the Snagov lake.
Also you can: go to swimming pool, make a tour on Snagov lake, go rent a bicycle or kaiac or visit a small local museum.
But the quiet, green and natural surroundings - are the most asset.Written September 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately like in many cases the owner wants to recuperate quickly his investment and did not put enough effort in training the staff:they do not present themselves, there is not consistency in the services.Written May 1, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
