Erika, the daughter in law, was excellent in both arranging our visit and then giving us a tour (in perfect English) of certain parts of the winery, before we tried 4/5 wines in the tasting room.
Those bottles represent the best possible quality; reservas, gran reserva and single-vineyard wines... Our host Erika (the daughter in law of the owner) was adorable and super knowledgeable.

My husband and I got to tour the Bodegas Valentin Pascual winery and caves with Jose during our honeymoon, and we loved learning about the way wine was traditionally made.
If you are looking for a fantastic tasting tour of an authentic bodega in La Rioja I hands down recommend paying Bodegas Valentin Pascual a visit!

We loved every minute of the tour, learnt so much from our lovely guide and enjoyed some memorable wine tasting.
We had a full hour and a half around the winery before enjoying a tasting of a white Rioja and a Reserva along with some biscuits, cheese and local chacuterie - before making some purchases.

The tour, fascinatingly, takes you through most or all of these additions, (in my awe I lost count!) as it takes you through the history and process of these delicious, precise, and wonderfully crafted wines.

Bodega Classica – Hacienda Lopez de Haro is just outside the walls of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and affords magnificent views of the Ebro river and the church/village.

There are quite a few good wineries to visit in Haro, but we loved our visit to Rioja Alta so much that we hung around on the porch enjoying the wine and scenery for some time.
