It's fairly centrally located with easy access to the Val Thorens area as well as over to the Meribel and Courchevel area and is linked by some great lifts.
We have stayed in Les Menuires twice now and find it a fantastic base for skiing in the Three Valleys.

My 4 and 6 year olds (Brendan and Caitlin) had a combination of private lessons (with Daniel and Fred) and morning group lessons (with Sylvia and Fred) and the 2hr add-on group afternoon sessions (Jean-Luc and Katy).
First holiday skiing, excellent instructors (Mario & Barney), so patient and kind, excellent service of delivery of skies and boots, extremely friendly and helpful staff throughout.

Pros are reasonable prices compared to rest of 3 valleys, great easy access to Courcheval or Meribel valleys, nice and safe (very little traffic) for kids and reasonable amenities for a village of this size.
Good skiing on north facing tree lined slopes - definitely best in area during bad weather.
