Giovanni was lively and fun, and planned a beautiful day for us, including a fabulous, family-style Italian lunch at a cliffside restaurant (hello, Luigi!) overlooking the Amalfi Coast.
We toured numerous large homes built by wine merchants, slave traders, politicians and other wealthy Romans, complete with banquet rooms, courtyards, fountains and large frescos.

This colomb is in the main square of Pompeii, and sits in its own area good for a photo opportunity, but this area is very busy and of outstanding beauty all around you, you feel the atmosphere of what it once was.
