This mall was alright to walk around and there's a few shops but not too many sport shops like I wanted. The food court up top is handy with cheap foods.

This Robinsons is well designed, wide alleys, a lot of greenery, bright interiors. It has all the shops and parking that one might need.

This mall is quite nice. I had a walk around here to kill some time. The food court up the top is the highlight with many foods. There's a fair few shops here with everything you may need.

This is the only place in Virac that qualifies as a mall, be it a semi open air mall. It is very small, but so is Virac, so don't expect much of it.

The mall has a 'hypermarket', which is basically a small supermarket with some extra departments on the ground floor, and an appliance shop, furniture shop and clothes shop on the second floor. Just around it are a few eateries, some of them very local, and some chain restaurants.

Behind it, on the other side of the bridge, is an open area with a lot of cafes and bars, a podium and a square where people seem to hang out. I'm not sure if that's part of the Town Center experience, but it's worth checking out.

As said, the size of it all is very little, so don't expect this place to offer an afternoon of shopping. Rather an hour if you need some groceries or some other basics or just something to eat. It's not really a cozy place either and the mian building doesn't have air conditioning, so it gets rather warm there.

The Cafe is amazing! While the choices are limited at the moment, you cannot go wrong with your orders. The Banana Blossom Spaghetti is one for the (menu) books! The crispy twist of banana blossom and egg instead of meatballs is a welcome twist to our favorite pasta. The fried banana side is a healthy alternative to bread. Don't forget to have the Banana Blossom Burger, too. You wouldn't get over the crispy and delicious taste that leaves your mouth as you bite into its goodness. And yes, cool down with a bottleful of the Iced Tabrilla. Servings are generous. Prices are fair as well.

Not only is the food great, the cafe doubles as an art gallery. The whole place is decked with works of art made by the owner herself. At times, works of others are featured as well. The Cafe. As well, hosts cultural activities meant to enliven the quiet and historic town of Baao.

The Youth Center Mall was not yet complete by the time we had our visit from June 4-6, 2013. So far, only a few shops were operational (Jollibee, Mercury Drug, Supermarket, and souvenir stalls). The second floor was still under construction. There was also Chic Boy restaurant but it was always closed when we tried to visit the place.

In material terms, Masbate is Philippines' poorest province - and it shows in its only shopping centre, Gaisano Capital.

There was a total of three restaurants in the centre and at lunchtime - not a peak shopping time - few supermarket patrons, those premises having a tellingly unusually small range of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Staff and guards are all pleasant but incomes need to rise in this province as they have elsewhere in Philippines to attract an SM City or Robinsons to give real competition to Gaisano. Masbate is largely off the tourist trail so that does not help in increasing typical annual income.
