Great day out, weather was really nice, kids and I enjoyed climbing the castle (and subsequently being told off), views were great and went to the farm where kids had a great day.. Well worth a visit to here with...

It is a lovely little castle with lots of fabulous nooks and crannies to explore and plenty of spiral staircases to ascend.
We are already English Heritage members but the pricing in the shop was brilliant - two cans of drink and two postcards for £2 and lollies for 20p, children’s craft activities for 80p - excellent.

You need to be very good at climbing steps, however if you can its worth it.
The car park next to the mill was free on Saturday afternoon when we visited though Saturday morning and Wednesday visitors would have to pay a small fee.
